Just picked up BS2 and realized that I am not going to get a lot of sleep.. lol I have some Lock on experience so I do see some similarities but trying to map my CH fighterstick is a little hairy. Does any one have a fav map file for this hotas that one can recommend? I want to put in some good time before I pick up A-10. Also, maybe do some flight training if someone is available. copter Thanks all..

Same here. I had the orginal BS but hardly had any time to master it. Still, I ordered and got me BS2 and flying almost daily now.
There is great reading about BS/BS2 here. Check homepage of SimHQ and look for DCS Black Shark smile

As a rookie pilot myself I started with taking off, flying around the airfield and landing. Did that alot! There's some discussion about the trimming. Like some I trained myself using the trim alot. Others fly different. After you master the takeoffs, landing and trimming I would suggest to learn the ABRIS. Start with navigation, using the waypoints and how to use the autopilot.
After that start to learn your weapons. I know everyone wants to shoot but you still have to learn to fly first smile

Anyways, above is what I did and am doing still. Also got me the printed manual. I'll take it with me anywhere to read and study smile

Have fun and fly safe! copter

Yea, I have been working with that training mission that is sticky'd above, I just now got some of my weapons mapped, but I know there is a good map for the ch hotas. I was reading about the trim and I think I got that down pat!! Doing very well with take offs and landings. I could just about put it down anywhere as long as I got a good visual on my landing zone. I agree, fly first, shoot later..:) Gonna try and print the manual to take with me around to read. copter

Got a Quick question. I noticed that when in single play mode, my maps on my hotas work as I set them. But when I switch to multiplay, I lose all my settings. Is this normal or am I missing something. Thanks for any info on this as I am still checking the manuals at this time to see if I missed a setting or not.

Did you do your mapping in Game mode?

I think most (or all?) multi player servers will set the client to Simulation mode, so if you use Game mode for single player, the in-game settings will be lost when joining MP (Simulation mode) servers. Depending on how you map your HOTAS, that might explain why the settings work in SP but not in MP.
