So, was doing my monthly check of Matrixgames and I came upon this new game - Unity of Command. Bought it and have played a couple of games, I like it quite a lot!

http://matrixgames.com/products/417/details/Unity.of.Command

Its basically an operational wargame but there are a couple of things to note, in my opinion making it a gem:
* scenarios are manageable in size and can be easily finished in a couple of hours.
* controls are not much more complex than Panzer General/Panzer Corps
* Interface is 2010 and the game runs like a champ, none of that old school technology that you'd think you get with a wargaem
* it includes some simple but working supply rules, this being my number 1 complaint about wargames. Battles of encirclement are really possible!

In short, its simple and quick (we don't have time/patience to play what we played years ago) and its smarter than average!

More to read in reviews like this one: http://www.boardandwargames.com/2011/11/review-unity-of-command-pc.html

Look it up, won't break the bank or the download quota!

This is a great game and more people should look into it. I bought it after reading lots of reviews and surfing war gaming forums,
and I stuck "Gold".

Check out the video.

I picked this up. Great, fun, quick game. It brought back memories of Panzer General.
