It's for PC. It is based on the falcon 4 code.

The way I understood was that it would be free to download, or you could pay for a dvd with the game and a TON of goodies (documents, movies, etc). I recently posted a question about whether this was still true, but no response yet. It's like a graveyard over there.

Great subject, but why use that old game engine?

This has been brewing for a couple of years, the use of the Falcon 4 engine comes from the fact as I understand it that it was originally being developed as an add-on for F4, then it became stand alone. I never worked out the legal stuff although I've read at the site Lead pursuit have no issue with this blah, blah, and that they had nothing to do with all the recent delays etc but nothing Falcon related is without some grief it seems. Also a bit worrying that the old site has gone and has now become nothing more than an order page with little info, if it materialises I'll be up for it, a Bristol Buccaneer is worth the admission fee alone. there's a promo vid on youtube, quality if bad though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FMPo8WULbs

I've been watching this one since the first screenshots at FreeFalcon. Definitely looking forward to seeing it come out.

Then they cut the websites because something was hacked or so and the website at combatsim showed what it nowadays shows - and it didn´t change since then. as you may noticed, that my youtube video is from october 2006 greetings airway

I also remember several questions in the old site forum if it needed F4 to run or stand alone as the info was never too clear on that.

http://www.freefalcon.com provides downloads and forums for the Falcon 4.0 community. Running parallel to Allied Force, Free Falcon is where you can find a majority of the third party addons and modifications to Falcon 4.0. SAAF OPS has been featured there in the forums for a long while. It's a complete campaign scenario, complete with new aircraft, terrain and objects.
