Wow, that looks sweet! Incredible track details. Oh the memories of that dreaded Monaco chicane in GPL...

Thanks Sag, It looks fantastic in motion. A crazy amount of detail in there. Things that stood out to me were the lighting and the crowd reacting to action on track. Nice! Sadly the lack of gear change animation stands out like a sore thumb, hopefully this is in the works. I wonder if there would be a market for Sim-diapers, we could even have a little warthog logo on the front....

Looks good and I definitely love the vintage Monaco and GP cars (great GPL memories), but I was not blown away by the physics, at least from what I see on the screen it looks like hitting curbs etc doesn't upset the car much in areas I remember as needing careful control in GPL.
Overall I am really hoping rFactor2 significantly ups the physics and forcefeedback compared to rF1, which for me it the main thing that makes it hard to go back to rF1 after I discovered the more modern physics/FF of sims like nkPro and iRacing, even though I love some of the rF1 mods it is hard to drive with that lack of feel/control.
I am hoping it goes into open pre-pay beta soon so I can find out for myself, looking forward to it and hoping to have good improvements in those areas at least.

Nice...the one thing that got me was the animation of the drivers hands on the wheel. I have never seen another sim where as your turning the wheel, the driver puts one hand over the other the further the wheel is turned. That was surprising. That was the first thing I said 'Wow' about when I saw it. Usually, like in GPL, your virtual hands and arms are twisted in unnatural knots as the wheel is turned. Physics seemed a little 'toned down'. Maybe it's the guys driving style, maybe the fact it's a WIP but I seem to remember a lot more small corrections from driving in GPL and watching in real life. Like the previously mentioned sidewalk and curb and going over that little hump (which would almost certainly put me in the wall beyond), it didn't seem to be that 'big' of a difference in the way the car moved. *shrugs* But what do I know, eh? My only comparison is grainy old Youtube footage and a over-decade old game... =-Rigs-=

Wheeeeee! I'm downloading the 5 gig version of the video to really feast on the details! Hi Jens, I won't press you for any confidential NDA details, but would you at least be able to clarify if SimHQ staffers/members are involved in the open Beta ?

Everyone will be in the open beta. Beta is for those that pre-order it, IIRC.
