Ralf,

the Staffel was in Sicily and wearing air superiorty gray (74/75/65) camo and provided Italian Sand color that was field painted. So,
no 2 aircraft looked the same. Other Stafflen were in Tunisia and carried the Desert camo which ran down to mid fuselage. Fran-Zee is gathering information on units from both areas and I will most likely end up skinning both color sets.

Cool scheme, seems an odd one. Do you have any pics of the actual planes, would be interesting to see them smile

Ajay, this Red 1 is from 8/JG 53.

The one you reference is from JG 27. The photo and plane belong to Werner Schröer, Staffelkapitän of 8./JG 27 June, 1942. Still, it has a very nice looking camo. yep

In this profile the color is off but it gives the 74/75/79 over 65 scheme for my RED 1

Hi Guys,

Interesting colour scheme - I had read somewhere that they used Italian paints from time to time so this is clearly an example, though why they did not use Sandgelb and Himmelblau I don't know - perhaps a bit too light? OK, here comes the "but" you all expect from me by now - tropical filter is acceptable but not quite right - as shown in Mikes "profile" should have a wider tubular forward end after the ribbed bit. Only a small point and down to the modellers not Mike. Still ruddy good.

Cheers,

Pete the pain.
