In a contest that came down to the last lap, Tony Stewart beat Carl Edwards at Homestead to take the 2011 championship title in NASCAR. Though Tony won the race, he and Edwards were actually tied for the points lead, with Tony winning more races in the Chase to clinch the championship.
If you didn't watch the race, try to watch it when they replay it. TWICE Stewart had to go the rear of the field and make his way back to the front. By the end of the night he had passed 76 cars for position in route to the win. This was the best season-ending race in NASCAR in years!
Congrats to Tony on a hell of a race.

This was the best season-ending race in NASCAR in years! Arguably, it was the best season ending race ever! And Carl Edwards is a class act. Hope he wins his share of championships in the future.

Why does everybody put spoilers in topics? Is that really necessary? I learned a long time ago that if I don't want to accidentally learn the outcome of a sporting event that I plan to watch later on the DVR, don't go online before watching it.

I like Tony Stewart and I like Carl Edwards, so either of those two winning would have make me happy.
But most of all I am THRILLED that Jimmie Johnson didn't win again!

Didn't get to see the race live since it was only on cable but finally managed to catch it tonight, what a great race and great drive by Tony Stewart, well deserved win and championship.

I didn't like Tony Stewart at all when he first came on the scene but he's become quite a great competitor over the years.

There are good drivers that aren't great people. Having a skill or talent doesn't mean you have to be personable, although many seem to think that is somehow related.
