I cant truly judge BF3 since i only played the beta but I prefer COD due to the sabotage mode it is my favorite mode. That and I didn't have a lot of fun in the BF beta.

Good news: that beta had almost nothing to do with the final game. Might as well have been a different one entirely. thumbsup

IIRC, the stated purpose of the beta was to stress test their servers?

I'm still kicking around the idea of getting BF3. Some of the guys in my A-10 squad are trying to get a team together so I might try it.

It's quite amazing. I recommend it. While everyone raves about the online component, I also loved the single player campaign (although the story line is incomprehensible), the graphics and attention to detail are stunning.

Nice article!...

Agreed with the MM3 MP view, BF3 MP view and disagreed with "That’s basically Battlefield 3’s campaign. It's bad.

Don't play it.", BF3 campaign is not that bad, I liked the CQB parts and the dog fight part.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother with any comparison of a BF3 campaign. Surely, there are more than enough players of the original BF series (1942, BF2 and 2142) that will confirm that the BF series is a multiplayer game only with previous single player versions being nothing more than a 'skirmish' practice mode.

It seemed quite obvious to me very early on that the single player mode/campaign was tacked on to keep console users happy in that they could buy the game with no intention to play the multiplayer mode. BF3 especially has such a gulf in gameplay between single player and multiplayer especially as the objective is so, so different that it becomes a totally different game with a wildly different emphasis.

The multiplayer mode is like day and night to the single-player mode, to the extent that it is a totally different game, any reviewer worth their salt should be giving scores independently and not as a whole.
