I have read manuals and followed tanit's tutorials... so i decided to take a flight in the AG TE in the mission list and fly to KOTAR.
I grabbed a loadout of agm 65D x4 and CBU97 x2 and a TGP

Problems a plenty.

1 - my FCR will not hold lock thus disallowing me any ability to either employ CCIP or CCRP.

2 - I could not SOI the WPN page to use maverick
3 - TGP always said TGP OFF. I couldnt get an AG on OSB to allow me to POWER it on....
4 - my radar scan distance in/out for the FCR stopped working while over target.

Are any of these familiar noob errors or do you think i may have deeper issues?

<shrug> I don't have that problem. I'm not sure what's going on. I presume the simple things like you're not point your nose too far away from the target.

<shrug again> I don't recall consciously trying to SOI the WPN page to use the maverick. You have to power on the mavericks (WPN Page, Maverick selected), and you have uncage the missile head (uncage button, I think default [u]).

TGP page - OSB1 (Standby) < OSB6 (A-G Mode)

I can't say as I can verbalize what I do to get the FCR in ground mode to get on target. I seem to do it without thinking much. I can tell you that in default mode the FCR locks and only allows you to slew around a particular distance from a waypoint (I think it's 10 km). You can switch to Snowplow mode which lets you slew the cursor more. You need to TMS up once to ground-fix the cursor before you can slew it (that's what flumuxes most people).

I'm not having the problems you're having. But I'm still a noob. Yet I don't think it's deeper issues either.


The youtube tutorial links above are really good. I'm luck enough to have a second computer that I ran them on while flying. I had to go through a few of the tutorials multiple times and take notes.

Don't forget you need to wait around 3 mins for the Mavs to power up.



TGP OFF means it's not powered on, not the same as STBY. What you need to do is turn it on which is not done from the OSBs, flip the RIGHT HDPT switch on the SNSR PWR panel, right console (right next to the stick).
