In Flaming Cliffs 2, I have a MiG-21 with a 6DOF cockpit that I can swap in and out for the Su-33 with Modman. So it appears to me that new cockpits can be done.

What would stop a clever modder from taking the AH-1W Cobra from DCS: A-10C Warthog, creating a good AH-1W 6DOF cockpit for it, and releasing it for DCS: Blackshark? It could be done in such a way that you must copy the Cobra model from your DCS: A-10C Warthog install so that they're not giving away stuff from other games. You must own both DCS: Black Shark and DCS: A-10C Warthog to install it.

I wish someone who knows about modding would do that. Oh Thomas! Did you hear that?

DCS: AH-1W Cobra would really appeal to me. I'd love to fly a Cobra with working trim and all. They could borrow gauges from the A-10C to replace Black Shark gauges that didn't fit.

Cheers!

Obviously you'd have to change the flight dynamics. I don't believe my MiG-21 doesn't fly like an Su-33 so it seems as if it can be done.

And besides, the Cobra is much more stylish than the Black Shark.

Cheers!

if they release proper documentation for aircraft modeling, me and a bunch of other people would have done it already. but right now, we have few experts revere engineering the files and progress is slow.

I think ED would be good to offer some mod teams access the source code to build some odd aircraft that they never would make flyable. They could of course require standards for the planes and require full documentation for said aircraft before they allowed a mod team to build the plane. ED could then offer to sell the planes for ~$20-30 and even give a few dollars to the mod team and still come out in the black.

It'd be a win-win, but I guess it isn't worth the hassle.

Man, I'd pay for a well done Super Cobra, W or Z.
