Here's the small but significant Changelog.

Nov 2011
--------

* Enemy air defense units sometimes not re-spawning correctly when
Reflying a mission is fixed.

* Some of the graphics details have been scaled down to improve
peformance and eliminate stutter.

* The game sometimes starting in very low resolution when running
with Windows 7 Aero enabled is fixed.

* Hangar screens not showing on third-party aircraft mods is fixed.

* RAF Phantom F-4M (75) is no longer equipped with decoy dispensers,
they receive the upgrade in 1980 as F-4M (80) instead.

Will there ever be multiplayer for this title?

Yeah thats the way to go when improving something. Instead of finding what the real problems is we just tone it down so its not noticeable anymore.

Funny,
I was considering that TK never removed the keybinding to Chat and other multiplayer fnuctions.

Still he admitted somewhere he's not implementing them in Sf2:whatever.

Shame...

That's why I'm not installing this patch or any future patches. I've got enough content and functionality from mods to last the next 2 years so best not to fix what's not broken to me.

AFAIK MP was based on directplay which MS stopped supporting in win 7. TW don't want to rewrite from scratch it seems. Good thing the AI is ok.

Really? Because the graphics were so impressive they were bringing modern machines to their knees . . .?

The problem was nVidia Optimus GPU Switching.

LOL. Yeah, I don't get that one, either.

Don't forget the new damage model also messes up a whole bunch of third-party flight models. The AI will literally destroy their own planes if you don't add a MaxG value to each mesh. A whole bunch of them are going to have to be rewritten.

Stock aircraft from now on for me.
