I was idling with BMS Falcon and selected tactical missions, or Free Flight. I went to 'commit' the to 'fly' and received an immediate warning:

"The exception Breakpoint:
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x4888e63."

The program was terminated...Looks like a memory allocation error. What is it and how does one work around this fatal problem?

Idiots guides welcome...................

Have you been using BMS for a while or is this the first time you have run BMS? I would try a clean install of BMS.

As for what the problem is I have no clue but best bet is always a reintsall.

System specs will also help.

Frankly, I have the program installed since the end of September, but have had limited time to enjoy it. I tried. It failed. I will agree that failures this fundamental usually require a re-installation. This brings questions:

Where can I find the setup link to BMS 4.32 along with installation instructions? I do not want to replicate my errors.

As for the system, it is a custom made Intel Core Duo (2.6Ghz), with 4GB DRAM, XP S/P3, with a now archaic GeForce7800GT (256Mb VRAM)

I figured, though hestitated, to a reinstallation. But before I venture into the skies of 'dumb' once again, link and instructional assistance would be appreciated.

Hmm BMS has really beefened up in the graphics department. Your problem is probably graphics card related given your old 7800GT and it crashing before you get to the 3D world.

I suggest you try to play it with all the eyecandy set to as low as they can go to start off with, definitely uncheck MSAA, uncheck all the nice graphical enhancements that BMS introduced and see how that goes. Add them in one by one to see where the fault is.

I would agree that the efforts to raise the graphic display standard of Falcon by BMS would render my Nvidia card obsolete. I did return to the configuration to eliminate triple buffering and then the graphics configuration to reduce as much as possible to a minimum. I was able to reach a F16 introductory 'splash' screen prior to the tactical event. However, it once again terminated in a breakpoint failure as before.

So, I can transfer the BMS 4.32 install to another system. This system has a Intel Dual Core 3.33Ghz, XP S/P3, 4GB DRAM, GTX285 (1GB VRAM)
Also on this system is Free Falcon 5.5. Does Free Falcon 'play well' with another Falcon4 setup? I suspect it does not which is why Open Falcon is on the 'older' system. Please advise if it does or whether there are means of fool the Free Falcon setup.

Also, I will need the download site, a link or name, to acquire another BMS download with corrective instructions.

Links to both the torrent or the zipped installer in this thread:

Thank You

The link to the older SimHQ threads helped substantially. Not only was a download found, but the installation instructions and system requirements. My older system was CPU and DRAM excellent, but failed at VRAM. To enter the BMS amusement park at least 512Mb of VRAM is required.

I moved to another system, finding that my reluctance was also misplaced. BMS 4.32 does not require a preliminary Falcon4 installation in order to create a "clean" install. The BMS installer can key off the original Falcon4 CD. The install now works. I am able to recognize, albeit very briefly, the value that BMS 4.32 brings.

Greedly, however, what Theater or 'other' addons are available? I had in my first install a Balkans setup. Does that theater or others still exist? I glanced at the BMS website and its forum and could not find active threads relating to additions to the core game. Advice?

Balkans and Aegean theaters are available in addition to the Korean peninsula. Register/visit the BMS forums for more info in the following forum area: http://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?32-Theater-Discussion
