I have a Peltier cooling system on my PC. Recently, I started getting "WARNING: CPU cooling fan speed too low" before Windows boots-this comes and goes from week to week. 98% of the time, I can just power down and back up and the fan comes on. I took the fan out and blew it off with compressed air but the problem continued. Eventually, I decided to just buy a new fan, however, it's hard wired into the peltier cooler (well, the wire disappears up into the cooling system). So I can't just disconnect this fan and pop on a new one. Am I stuck buying an entire new cooling system? I didn't put this PC together, so are these cooling systems easy to replace?

I have almost fried my CPU a time or two when I turned on the PC but didn't switch on the monitor (I use my 48" TV as my PC monitor), so the fan really isn't coming on, it's not a reporting error.

rockpi,

Is it an Ultra unit? If so I wouldn't mess around, either replace it or put in something else. Unless that CPU is under load, you do have time to monitor it.
