This Thursday we'll be playing the second mission in the Tactical Thursday Campaign, 'Moonless,' following Dagger Squad's role in the invasion of Takistan. This night assault mission features Dagger Squad and two AH-6Js with special armaments: dual M2 machine guns and either a Mk19 or a Stinger pod (all of which can actually be mounted on the Little Bird).



Mission:

In order to secure your previous gains at Khushab, command has ordered 'Dagger' to make an immediate night assault on the enemy forces garrisoned in the town of Jilavur. You must break the defensive points in the town and clear it of enemy forces. Pay particular attention to the military base on the eastern edge of the town.

160th SOAR AH-6J flight 'Wildfire' will be operating in support of your attack, but the risk of heavy ground fire will limit their aggressiveness.

Situation:

Burning tank hulls dot the landscape east of Khushab, casting their light into the pitch black sky. That surprise armor counteroffensive was an unnerving experience for many in Dagger; the Karzeghistani insurgents certainly didn't have tanks. Heck, they were lucky to have working rifles. It turns out that this one will be a real war after all.

Though Command is reporting that total air superiority has already been achieved in this AO, many within your squad aren't so sure. The sight of Stingers mounted on the SOAR birds hasn't done much to dispel that fear, either. What other surprises does this enemy have in store?

It has only been a few hours since your capture of Khushab, but there's no rest for the wicked. Take the fight into the darkness, Dagger.

These campaign missions are some of the best ones I've ever made I think, in terms of environment, living battlefield, etc. Hope we have the 9-12 needed to fill it out!

Didn't quite finish the campaign, but I'd say that's alright since we only had 7 players for a 12 man mission. We'll play it again next time and see if we can beat it. Played a few good defense missions as well, which are always fun (when you don't get wiped out immediately).
