just posted out of interest to see what tyes of characters you guys play as,
mine,
WoodElf named Nazeroth, uses a bow for long/mid range combat then when I get up close I equip either a two handed sword or 1h + shield, I experiemented with dual weld for a bit, but did not like it as much, I wear a mixture of heavy and light armour.

Out of the frozen wastes of Skyrim came a Nord named Rupert He's called Valkyr as I watched Max Payne and thought it would be a good name for a Nord bad-ass. Rarely uses magic but changes between 2 handed claymores, dual-wielding axes and maces and a Skyrim forged steel longsword and shield combo. Uses a bow at times but I like to run in and lay waste with my chopper Was using heavy armour but like the look of the studded armour but sometimes change around depending on what I'm fighting.

Mine:
Nord called Lance, uses a bow for ranged, and either 2x1h for 1x+spell for close in work. I have several daedric weapons I can use for my dual wielding. My skills are pretty spread out, kinda wish I could reset them and get a more coherent and thought out selection..

This is my character. Recently liberated moments before his execution, Jonah bar Wesley makes his escape into the vast, cold and unknown land of Skyrim. An Imperial caught crossing the border and accused of being in league with rebel Skyrim forces, Jonah bar Wesley is an archer and one who prefers stealth. However he is exploring the benefits of dual wielding destruction and restoration magic.

Jonah bar Wesley makes his escape into the vast, cold and unknown land of Skyrim. Is that like Simon bar Sinister? Good looking characters one and all.

Joao the Archer just back from the wilds to sell off the hard won treasure loot and sleep a good night in his bare house... he is actually a nice guy but people don't trust his strange wood elf looks with that Hellboy horned scale helmet, no matter he will not be in town long enough to make friends...

Here is my Norse bird character....toyed with the idea of calling her 'Bertha Blackmane' or 'Iona the Irate' (a bit like my bad tempered ex, the red head rumours you've heard are undeniably true lol), then settled on 'Elsbeth Tirinor'. Is it 'wrong' to quite fancy your computer generated pixel creation? Probably. I'd still do her though. This game is cracking good fun; can't believe I have never played something like this before, very entertaining. Elsbeth is a 'patter merchant', great with muckle two handed battle axes (the 'Barbarian' skill) and good with the 'destruction' spells. I've decided to play 'good' and stop randomly murdering pensioners and robbing them etc lol. Need to figure out how to learn different spells though, (I have a 'novice hood' and robes too). I'm less bothered about the armour stats etc, more on how they look. Shes got fur armour too which looks properly 'Norse' hehe.

Biggles, you say "can't believe I have never played something like this before." I must say that Skyrim is so much better than most RPGs that it is somewhat of an exception, perhaps even among all of the other Elder Scrolls games.

Hey Mace about the camera. Whatever button you have mapped to change camera view, hold it down while you have a weapon drawn to rotate the view. Its a little cumbersome but it works. The only other camera thing I wish is that you could watch your character walk from the front. Every time I try to do this like in other games my character just turns around and starts walking backwards. Not sure how or why the camera is any different than Oblivion or FO3 where you could do that.

As i said in the other thread i played on my friend to get the feel of it,but i made this "not" arabic character, though i was temped to go with lizard man,the women must be all about that tongue. My char called Aedemirius is an archer-assassin dual-wielding arcane-warrior thief, yes, that is a new skyrim class. Becouse everyone knows a true warrior strike from the shadows a unsuspecting victim, set their pants on fire then deliver the final blow with its sword, so he can boast they all died by his blade i really like how magic hood fits this suit

Yes, all redhead temper legends are true. That's why God made the rutilistic more sensitive to endorphins and opiate agonists than other people. That way their fury is eventually self-limiting. My anti-geek defenses are weakening. I'm starting to think about buying Skyrim and the latest incarnation of Dragon Age. Must not lose grip on realism! Must...not...lose...grip! Cheers! Rick...

Must...not...lose...grip! Cheers! Rick... DA1 > DA2. DA2 is more combat focussed and a bit watered down in the RPG elements. If you play Skyrim you'll probably not want to play DA. It's like going from ARMA to COD. Skyrim is the much better game though.

I'm going to have to quit looking at these Skyrim posts. I had to reinstall oblivion to get to play something like this. First time playing non-vanilla Oblivion.
If I would have known that I would have so many CTD's, I wouldn't have bought this and would've bought Witcher 2 instead. I'm glad you all are having fun, I wish I could get a refund as it is broken to a point where I can't play it. I'm not a happy camper right now.
ETA: Got through the place where it was CTD'ing by playing in windowed mode. Only problem with that mode is that it was tearing some. Going to switch back to full mode and see what happens again. I never know when to just quit.

The unusual races need some lovin' (no Orcs or Argonians? They look absolutely badass in Skyrim). My guy, been swapping between light/heavy armors. One handed weapons, bows, and my ability to form the fetal position when I run into dragons way above my pay grade.

I plan on playing a Khajiit thief next. As I always played them in Morrowind and Oblivion I thought I wouldn't straight away in Skyrim.

Here's my dude, Jerhaus the Just, with his companion Lydia from Whiterun climbing the 7,000 steps to High Hrothgar. He's a total brute-strength Nord, donning heavy armour and wielding a two-handed warhammer.

I thought about trying for some points in restoration to play a true cleric-style character, but so far just making very occasional use of the basic flame/healing spells.

I got it...Smithing at 100, heavy armor weighs nothing now, with the appropriate perk. Daedric armor...refined up to legendary.

First was a mage. He's a Breton specialized in destruction and restoration. Pretty boring. He's now the Archmage at the College, and I'm mostly done with him. I take him out for a random adventure once in a while. Dark Elf scout. An archer/alchemist sneak. Had to try out the duel-wield thing too. Still prefer single weapon because you can block. Both of my characters refuse to take sides in most political battles, but the Archmage is more likely to help out random people. Scout just wants do do her own thing.

Hi Arthur Are you using any mods? The character's head/face doesn't look stock to me.

No mods visual mods, settings are on high. I did spend a good bit of time fooling around with the face customization during the character creation at the beginning.
I am using key remap, LAA, timescale and arrow speed mods, but they don't affect any visuals.
BTW, I take back what I said about duel-wield. Once you get the "Duel Flurry" perk, it's worth it if you have a fast character. Now, I need to find a soundmod that eliminates her guttural utterances (or as Strongbad says, "Gutterances") during combat. Someone who kills silently seems more badass.

This is Amram. His axe is named "The Defiler of all Mothers". 20 points for you if you know who he is. Thought it was time to make a straight up warrior brawler. Also, read Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon, it's awesome.

After starting out as a Khajit thief, I decided to restart and try being a Wood Elf and not use my thieving skills except to pick locks for practice. It's too easy to steal stuff, so I am using my stealth and archer skills to see how this goes. I'm only level 2 in this run but now I know what I want to do basically. Going to see how far I can go without losing my life. Hopefully I can go the whole game......lol.
Next I think I'll try a Breton Mage.
I've had a few laughs seeing rabbits running underwater in the streams.
Here are a few things I would like to be fixed in regards to being encumbered. When encumbered, you can still jump just as high, and if you use your bow and draw it back, you can move quicker than the encumbered pace. If you have 1 pound until encumbered, you can carry a heavy object in front of you without it causing you to be encumbered.

The rather unimaginatively named Lars, a Nord. Level 6 now, was about level 3 when this pic was taken.
