SWEET!

Quote:

Commemorating all those who serve or served on this Veteran's Day, Battlefront.com is proudly announcing Combat Mission Battle for Normandy - COMMONWEALTH FORCES. "Commonwealth Forces" is the first Module in Battlefront.com's critically acclaimed Combat Mission Battle for Normandy series of WW2 ground warfare tactical simulations. CMWB:CW requires the original game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy in order to play, and is compatible with any version available.

The Commonwealth Forces module includes all new, meticulously researched and historically accurate UK, Canadian and Polish units and formations. The full range of Commonwealth weaponry is brought to life with the same amazing level of detail and simulation fidelity found in the previous Combat Mission titles.

This module will also bring you new German formations, such as the "Waffen SS" and the Luftwaffe.

Several variants of the iconic Churchill tank, the Cromwell, Stuart and Firefly will be included along with many other new units. The Germans will see the mighty King Tiger and the Jagdpanzer in their arsenal among several other additions (see bellow for a complete list of new units).

All formations can of course be mixed as part of a multi-national joint task force, using any of CM: Battle for Normandy's available units. Included in the package are all new scenarios, quick battle maps, and a campaign for exciting play right out of the box - before digging in and using the powerful editor or sharing scenarios with other CM: Battle for Normandy gamers.

The Commonwealth Forces Module will be packed with a lot of cool stuff and will be available for purchase soon to you all. "Soon" means "whenever it's ready". "All" means to anybody with ANY version of CM: Battle for Normandy. “Purchase” means the measly price of just $35.

As usual, CMBN Commonwealth Forces will be available only from http://www.battlefront.com/ as a direct download, via mail delivery (add S&H), or both.

Thanks for posting Magnum. The equipment list is still preliminary, so I hope there is still a chance we might get flamethrowers and Flak.

Right on. I spend over half my gaming time on this one, playing by email. There are some screen shots over at the battlefront website.

Great news inded!
With this module I will finally buy Combat Mission Battle for Normandy (and the "Commonwealth Forces" module of course)! Honestly I've "grown tired" of playing always or having only the possibility of playing only with the Americans (at least regarding western countries/forces). There are other western countries and forces that were just as important and many times even more than the Americans (specially in WWII scenarios) like for example the British and the Canadians that were unfortunally and for some strange reason(s) overlooked in the past (this is specially true regarding the Canadians!). Fortunally this module seems to change this (just like the British and NATO modules changed that for Combat Mission: Shock Force).

Really? Do you happen to have the link to the thread? They still have Luftwaffe formations listed in their advertisements for the module on their webpage.

Here you go:

Luftwaffe formations, in this case, refers specifically to the formations drawn from excess Luftwaffe ground personnel and not paratroopers.

Thanks LukeFF. I can live with that. Will be interesting to see these Luftwaffe Field Divisions. Most interesting to see how they do the Waffen SS divisions.
