Specifically wondering about a few of the game options.

We have about 3 of us into flight sims, and have mostly been flying IL-2 when we do fly...as it seems to have the best co-op flying experience so far for games on Steam. (I know Falcon 4 is pretty awesome, I'd played that a lot in the day, but it's not on Steam, so...)

ANYWAY, DCS:A-10C is on Steam, and I was wondering about that 'Quick Mission' mode. Does that work to create missions that can be played co-op?

I do see that there is a 'multiplayer' menu in the UI (from the SimHQ review), but what is behind that? Is it just single, standalone missions? (That would be...somewhat disappointing. At LEAST the ability to instantly dynamically generate a mission would be appreciated, even if full campaigns might not be available.)

Also, I noted in the SimHQ review that the data link functionality was not working in multiplayer. That does seem kinda disappointing, too - handing off PFZs would be very useful. But that review was done many patches ago - has that been addressed?

I don't know about the various functions offhand, but I do know DCS offers only single missions in MP. I don't know if you can take one of those Quick Missions and save it for MP use, but the MP side is purely "pick an MP mission from the list and fly".
No campaigns like Il-2, scripted or dynamic.
No random mission generator like Euro Air War and some other sims.

Generally speaking it comes with a small number and if you want more you make them yourself with the editor or you DL from somewhere like DCS' own site.

Pretty sure Data Linking does work that's a pretty old review if memory serves.

any SP campaign can be flown MP - just open in ME and add a client.

Plenty of MP activity online in the 74th, 104th servers etc... and the volume of online play is growing.

The ME is simple and there are plenty of options to create battles from templates for MP flights there as well.

Outside of lacking a dynamic campaign, the options for MP are really endless and only left to your imagination.
