Taxi and takeoffs are smooth. But I am fighting the controls landing this heli. Most of the time drifting away from the runway. Not sure if I need to trim, hover? Read the manual, watched movies and it all seems so easy.... Probably need to train alot I guess. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Hovering in a helo has been compared to balancing a bowling ball on the end of a broom stick - very unstable. It takes lots of practice to get smooth control in a hover. Getting trimmed right helps a great deal, but still a lot of stick work. In a sim you don't get the seat of the pants feel of which way the chopper is going, which makes it harder than in real life. Looking at the ground out the window for visual cues as to your helo's motion helps a lot. I zooming the FOV out just a hair to help with peripheral vision.

Are you better able to do forward flight... then maybe try landing on a runway with a little forward flight to keep it from the hover shuffle. I know without hover hold aid i was all over the place in my early BS time, but then started coming in with a little forward movement and was easier to control... but I may be all wrong, especially if you need to land at a FARP or pad.

RCTRL-ENTER. You'll see where your rudder, cyclic and collective is. You'll see why you're drifting and can make adjustments accordingly.

If you're drifting left and right or chasing the controls, its classic PIO. I had the same problem, the only cure is being more conscious of your inputs and practice practice practice.

Yes. It's practise practice practise!!

Indeed the suggestion to start trying to land with a bit of forward motion is a good suggestion. once you get that down you can go land at a slower and slower airspeed. What I also found in the early hours of flying the KA (years ago jawdrop ) I found that opening the cockpit door helps at the lower speeds.
Trimming to a low airspeed also helps alot.

I've made a tutorial - Landing Tutorial
(except missions are BS1 not BS2 - easy enough to make on your own.)
