I used to build mosel airplanes when I was a child. Now I wanted to find something different. I saw the sailboat in a local hobby store and figured it didnt look too difficult compared to the other sail kits they had there. It took about three months to complete. For my first attempt at a wood kit I thought I did a pretty decent job. I could have improved in different areas like the sails and I would have painted the waterline different. The sails I put some pen lines in because that is what the directions had me do. Then I put a clear varnish on the to harden them up. Doing it again, I would not have put the pen lines in or the varnish.
As for the tug. I wanted to do something military, but I really couldnt find anything out there. The Navy tug didnt look too hard and it looked pretty cool on the box. Wow! so many planks for the hull. A lot of sanding, putty, glue and time went into that hull so far.
I have to see what my next project will be after the tug
