It will be iRacing for me. The possiblity is there for RF 2 if it turns out to be very very good. But for now iRacing.

There seems to be more original content in rF2 than rF came with, but we really don't know just how good that content is. rF's a proven resource and I suspect there will be some teething pains with rF2 at first, so I can see myself running both for a while.

I have ongoing rF1 commitments which take me well into next year so my initial plan was to was to fulfil these (along with attending any pickup races) and then switch focus to rF2.

However, ISI's latest revelations do have me worried about devoting tons of time, effort and resources into a title that may have a limited shelf life after the 12 month period. For me rF2 is now a 'suck it and see' experiment rather than part of my gameplan. I have mentally prepared myself for the challenge of a new sim though - i was hoping this would be rF2 but if the default content isn't up to scratch i'll be reconsidering all the options.

If RF2 DOES turn out to be everything we hoped (and more) then i suspect. some people who say will run both actually won't. It's very hard to go back to an old suit once you have a shiny new one. Providing it fits of course. smile

Syntactically not entirely correct, but I try.

if
rF2 > rF1
then
rF1 mv /etc/storage
elseif
rF2 = rF1
then
touch rF1; touch rF2
elseif
rF2 < rF1
then
rF2 | NULL

My ability to play rF2 depends ENTIRELY on me being able to build a new PC next year.

That said, it is currently my plan to do both rF1 and rF2. I would imagine it'll be more rF1 though, as it is a "known quantity". It'll take some time for rF2's kinks to get worked out, as well as for community content to be put in place.

For me it all depends on what others will do. I only race online and if I need rF2 to do that, I will probably get it.

I would have got it as soon is its released, but the latsest talks have changed that. I will now wait and see what happens.

Unless there is a dramatic change, SimHQ will fully support rF1 and rF2 races in 2012.

The 2012 SCES will have a disclaimer for the once-a-month, six race series that starts in January: Two races with less than 15 drivers and the series is cancelled.

If rF2 is a worthwhile advancement, would anyone want to go back to rFactor? Why?
The difference will be in the mods, or lack of mods, and there may be a transition period while mods/tracks catch up.

I'm looking forward to rF2.
Aside from any added features, I hope rF2 can eliminate "auto-spin".
