Mostly Battlefield 3 fans I'm guessing. Don't ever pay attention to user ratings on that site, because they're completely compromised by trolls and fanboys.

That stuff they're saying about MW3 is exactly the stuff being said on the BF3 GameFAQS forum.

I started it. It is the same old thing but knew it would be for the most part. I enjoy it for its "you playing in an action movie" feel. Started a little mp too. Not sure I like how the unlock system works. It does seem you level up faster but then again you can't get C4 until like level 50 or something crazy like that.

Same thing happened to OFDR by Arma fans. Another reason not to worry about ratings.
I'm not that big on COD, but I have no doubt it's well done for what it is, even if I don't care for how they pull it off.

I like my series to be like the others, just new and updated... and thats what MW3 is.

I played only a little bit of the SP Campaign.

So far I'd say the graphics are better than BF3, but the sound in BF3 is lightyears better. No comparison and, for me, the sound is very important. I think it actually immerses you in the battle more than the graphics (to an extent, of course).

Haven't tried MP yet.

I went right to MP today, was typical CoD, but the maps are great, imo... many levels... it was released today, I played about 6 hours or so, got to level 10... was already battling ave of 30 to 40 levels... WOW... so I got slaughtered.

There is a video up showing how some of the buildings in MW3 are the exact same buildings used in one of their other games. LOL

BF3 is more my style. I bought MW3 to check out, but my hopes are really low. I see a lot of folks bashing the MP though.

bashers will bash, lol... just go to you tube, do a search for MW3 and you'll get a load of nice MW3 user made videos but most will have hundreds of thumb down ratings... not because of the video, becuae of the haters who feel a need to vote on a You Tube video to share thier hatred... and same for BF3... go fiquer. lol

I enjoy them both for what they are... I prefer games like AmrA, but like BF3... and can see why so many like MW3... people just relax and play them games.

Well I hear there is No Aim assist at all in this one and no option to turn it on.
So Im sure a lot of people that have played COD since the start on console are completly getting destroyed.
Its a BIG change to go from Aim assist to none.
I remember the first time I played Mag witch had no aim assit and was like "Damn this is going to take some adjusting too ! "

In the Long run Im better for it, because getting used to not having it has improved my fps skills.
Still if that is the case and it appears to be so, then thats a huge blow for a bunch of COD console fans that are used to having it.

I like BF3 a lot more, but MW3 isn't bad for a change of pace. It's just more COD, but I'm liking the new Support kill streak thing.

I have aim assist turned off but whenever I aim down the sites and I'm standing still and an enemy enters in, that little snap to sticky thing happens. I thought turning aim assist off would keep that from happenening?


I have it for the Xbox bisher. From what I can see the graphics look the same to me and at least on the xbox, my pc BF3 has much better graphics hands down. But its still a good looking game.


Maybe I just need to get used to it and figure it out, but right now the leveling and weapon unlock system in MW3 is a little obnoxious. I gguess I just really liked the straight forward economic system of Black Ops where you can just save your in-game cash and buy what you like.

Yes I may pick this up just for a differnt pace, plus it looks like I'm going to get some bachelor time this weekend. Game on!!

I havent played MW2 at all.. sorry, once i played ARMA II it was a done deal, i never really liked arcade shooters (halo, etc).

I played the first MW, and it was a pleasant change from WWII, but i've always been a "Realism/Simulation" first kinda guy, and like i said, once I experienced ARMA II, i was gone to PC to play that, and havent touched a Xbox 360 shooter since.

My brother uses my Gold account to play online, so he plays MW2 like 10 hours a day while im at my office, and he gets VERY into it, like he'll curse you out for distracting him.

however, seeing has his PC is in-operable at the moment for prolly upwards a month (depending on XFX, 1 week shipped to them + shipping back and the "evaluation/waiting on the dock" time).

I might end up getting him MW3 this weekend. So if you see my Xbox Live Tag playing, its 99.99999% chance its really my brother.

Same ol gameplay new maps, so all depends on if you like the series or not... my one liner review.

Not sure if I would give it an incredibly low score, but it is certainly underwhelming. I akin this to how EA handles the Madden series, small minute changes from year to year, but still the same major components. MW3 is falling right in line with this, almost to a point where it can certainly feel like an expansion pack.

First match I played in MP had me sitting on the couch thinking "Really? I see a new map, but that's it". The graphics engine has not improved, the sounds are identical to the previous releases and even the menu navigation is a rehash of CoD4. For me, it seems like the least amount of money was put into this version and it offers very little in terms of new ideas. Granted, the new killstreak rewards are interesting, but I think that is the extent of the major changes.

But this isn't all negative, CoD has always performed well in what it does, close combat/corridor/twitch game play. If it works, why change it? Why advance the series to a new level and risk ruining what has worked so well? I think MW3 takes this to the extreme though in that it does not even remotely FEEL like the next MW.

It'll be interesting to see how long the developers can pull this off, how long they can defer the need to update this game.

Keep in mind, my opinions are solely based on the MP component.

The graphics are nice but the gameplay is far too fast and twitchy. You can't go 10 seconds without shooting or being shot at (usually from behind). For kids with the attention span of a gnat I suppose that makes sense but I don't see myself maxing out my rank in this game. BF3 MP is better than this by LIGHTYEARS (IMHO).

Spec-Ops and Survival might be fun with a friend but the standard MP modes aren't going to be for me. BF3 as spoiled me for MP games that demand a level of teamwork.

I don't remember right now where it is Desode. I think its just in the basic options area. But once again I have it turned off but still get a sticky snap to action happening when I'm aim down the sites and an enemy enters the vacinity.

I do like how aiming down the sites has faster panning speed now. I don't know if that's across the board or some perk enabled buts its nice because you can go into a room ADS and pan around faster.

Im having fun in MP, never touched the SP, and i only played 1 mission in Black ops. I dont like the modern theatre for the game, I preferred COD: 2 and WAW.

For multiplayer, make sure you grab a silencer and blind eye , then you dont show up on the map, just stay prone and you can get loads of kills

After BF3 I do find the maps a tad claustrophobic however!

I played some SP last night and watched my son play MP for 40 mins or so, I can't stand the Run & Gun and that's all this is yet again...

TG I grabbed it at 10 AM AST on launch day and popped it in, and there were guys in their 30s and 1 guy was 44 , so thats less than 12 hours in!

It is like a Japanese TV show however , unlocks and bonuses popping up all over the place , only thing missing is the damage numbers from Borderlands! ( Which I liked BTW!)

I played a little MP tonight. There were 3 guys on my team with rank in the 60's!!!! And another 2 guys in the 50's. Woah! I'm a 5 or 6. LOL

Not sure I'll play this enough to get to Prestige. So far, I'm pretty disappointed with the MP. Same ol' same ol'. I get a kick out of what they call "Large" maps. The smallest map in BF3 is 5 times the size of a "Large" CoD map.

You're either shooting, or being shot, every 5 seconds. It's maddening.

The pace is so fast I can't see how tactics and team work would work on these when half of your squad is off running around...

Well, The first thing to know is that the lowest KD player on your team will pretty much control your teams spawn.
Second, your best bet is to play Hard Core.

I really do know some people that play tactics, but its pretty much, fight your way to the most defendable position on the map and then lock it down while you let the noobs run in to their deaths.

As I've said before... IMO... the CoD is really more about your character, your actions, and your unlocks... while the BF series is more about teamwork and working together... but you can get some basic tactics and teamwork out of MW3 by 1) playing a goal task mode, NOT TDM and 2) Playing on a hardcore server.

I just opened Hard Core on Sunday, so much better. Still have some matches where I'm getting crushed, but not nearly as bad.

if i play CoDMW2/3 its in Hardcore only... but I've played CoD maybe 45 minutes in 2011. To put in my perspective, I spent more time watching the FM4 credits than playing CoD the last year.

I'm torn on the game. I can't compare it to BF3 for many reason, most already stated. I just like to zone out from time to time and not think about tactics or anything like that. Its like watching a Stallone or Shwartzenegger movie. I don't watch it for the realism or deep meaning. COD is that way for me. I love hanging out with my fellow SimHQ'ers on BF3 for the teamwork, I like playing with Fumducker and TG because its funny to cuss at the game.

Please, I've broken controllers playing these games. Its a bit of both though. Hell you probably hear as much cussing from me. I tried real hard to hold my tongue when your kid was on though. Maybe that's the trick.

Haha. I will probably be on this weekend. Cussing at 12 year olds and stuff. I was just thinking I can only imagine what it is going to be like when my kid is old enough to play CoD.
