80 or 89 laps?

Tonights practice races were a blast with a fight going in every race for me... that last 40 lapper had an imense battle for the lead, which I was lucky enough to be involved in early on... it's going to be a hell of a race... boing

It's weird seeing the Alfa and ATS so close all the time after watching the Ferrari and Renault go at it over and over...

Good luck all!!! I really had a lot of fun today for the practice races and even got into the 1:12s during the 40 lapper...which is something I've never done before with these cars on this track. That is until I slid off at T1 and barely brushed the wall which bent my suspension with about 15 to go. It only took a second or two off my times so I pressed on and finished one lap down. Not too bad for me...lol.

I'm not able to make the feature Sunday because my dad is hosting an early Thanksgiving dinner for the family.

Here is the mirror bmp to drop in your vehicles folder, it fixed the virtual mirror showing the cars too close for me.

After a few laps I knew this wasn't going to be any fun for me. I shouldn't race this kind of cars. But when hotlapping I always have the feeling I will do fine in a race.

Well it was fun while it lasted. That makes two discos in two days. Both were classic discos, that is, bounced to the turntable screen after the message "connection lost" So I do not suspect an rFactor problem (although it could be). I have had stable hookups to SimHQ for a long time and any problems I have had I have been able to attribute to rF, or other portions of my own hardware/software. Not so with these last two. Like Purolater I will have to evaluate my future participation in any extended events that require so much preparation.

The racing I saw was fun and of a high order of skill and consideration. Thanks guys!!!

Congrats to the winner and podium guys!!

Dave

Congratulations to Darren for the win.

Good to see Col Kurtz back and running so strong with the pole and second.
(but for one oops in a turn, a win)

Good to see Pumbaa finishing out the podium.

winner

Congrats to all that participated! Good turnout with 17 drivers.

Congrats to the podium and all participants!

I feel for you, Dave. I limited my preparation to less than 3 hours of total wheel time, and that includes the hour before the race today. In case of another disco, I wouldn't have had such a sour feeling then as in August this year, where I prepared for hours, tweaking setups, etc.. But today - luckily! - no issues came up.

When I practised today I had at once a much better feeling about it. No shunts anymore and not record-breaking, but stable times. Admittedly I was indeed faster than the days before.

Quali went better than expected (6th on the grid), I somewhat blew the start (back down to 12th) and had a close call when Pierre spun in front of me. I very lightly touched his rear wheel and some damage was indicated, but the car's behaviour was virtually unaffected.

Had some battles for positions with Henny and Birdski afterwards (which I all lost) but I didn't care really as I was satisfied to have finished the race and the hiatus didn't affect my general speed as much as I anticipated.

7th place is nothing special, but seeing the chequered flag at all was already enough to make me smile today. smile

Signed up last minute as I was checking out SimHQ the otherday to see what was going on and saw this race and figured I give it a go. It's been awhile since I raced @ SimHQ saw some familiar names was fun today!

I did'nt get much practice but did make the 1st 2 10 lappers yesterday.

Q: 7th place and no where near the top guys a good second+ off

Race: I made a good get away passed a couple guys was up in 3rd or 4th for a bit as some of the guys I passed got back on pace and caught up..eventually was running about 5th or 6th Pummbaa was pulling away slightly and I was slightly quicker thean henny behind..

Birdski pitted and I found my self in 4th for a while until he caught up and got by with about 10 to go....

My main goal was to finsih and not make too many mistakes car was handful to drive and I was way off the pace uhhh but I did finish and only had 1 minor mishap and P5 is decent result..
