This is intended to be a purely for fun event with relaxed settings.
We hope those of you who have been reluctant to join us for other F1 races
will take a couple of hours out of the day on Sunday, November 20th
to join us.

General Information

Date: Sunday, November 20, 12 PM eastern time
Race Length: 80 laps
Sim: rFactor 1.255
Mod: 1979 2.01
Track: Dijon
Fixed Setups with Free Settings
Fuel Setting: 1x
Tire Wear Setting: 1x
Driving Aids: Auto Shift and Clutch
Driving Aids: Low setting on traction control and stability control
Damage Multiplier: 25%
Mechanical Failure: normal
Time Compression: none
Unique Vehicle Check: On
Flag Rules: Black only; blue flags display but no penalties
Open qualifying (all cars on track)
Start type: standing start
Drivers do not need to come to a complete stop to ESC
No spectator settings (to optimize server stability)
Drivers can advance the server to the next session during practice
All 3 virtual mirrors available and highly recommended
No Parc Ferme

12:00 - 12:25 Qualifying - starts at 12 PM track time
12:25 - 12:30 Warm Up / leg stretch / bio break
12:30 - 2:10 Race - starts at 12 PM track time
2:10 - Post race bench racing and beer

Darren's Turn 5 Barrel Removal*

*NOTE: There are some barrels at turn 5 which are sure to end somebody's drive. Steve suggested and Darren provided the file for their removal. Download this file to remove the Turn 5 barrels. The server has been updated so you will need this patch before joining the server to avoid getting an error. The file is in recursive folders when decompressed, so just follow the path for placement of the file.

Installation
1) Install the Add-on and track download
2) Install Ahmad's "Equal Physics" Update
3) Install the "Turn 5 barrels removal"
4) Select: Customize > Player > Racing Series > GP 1979 Equal Physics 2.01
5) Buy the car you want to drive

Any suggestions to the setup are welcome....I've tried to make it stable, yet fun. It might not be as fast as they ran historically in 1979 at Dijon, but I imagine the aliens among us can get close enough to that time we won't know the difference.

The track is lovely - but isn't Dijon one of those tracks which caused trouble in multiplayer in the past? With DSQs once the race came up after practice, qualifying and warmup?

It should be fixed in this version....(v2.5)
