Been flying this Sim since release. Have all the Allied A/C and the PfalzD.IIIa (a Blue Max fan). Always end an evening flying session in total frustration. Priority One: Try not to rip the wings off turning with the enemy. Priority Two: Don't get suckered into a position that causes a spin. Priority Three: Bring guns to bear on enemy A/C, Oops, too late, screens turning red. Let's not forget landing if I'm lucky enough to make it back to Base, ends with damaged wings and broken spars. I must admit I can hold my own in a Pup, but I have a hanger full of other A/C I'd like to fly.
Then this weekend I found the Magic Button. It enables *Simplified Physics *Easy Piloting *Invulnerability against weapons, in the Mission Settings without showing they have been checked.
As you have guessed the Magic Button is click to fly a Central Power A/C. I goes without saying, these A/C have their own set of problems, like don't fly into the tail of underpowered Allied A/C, and try not to fly into parts of the A/C you shot off. Don't forget, having to decide from a multitude of paint schemes to choose from.

Sounds like you're playing offline, which if that's the case I would suggest using Pat wilson's campaign generator and the the AI mods.

It makes it so the AI doesn't explode your engine or headshot you with every burst they fire in your direction. That along with realistic flight altitudes and a much more exciting mission structure.

I have umpteen dead Eindekker careers says different! I get you about the Nieuport 11 and 17 though - they are deadly! I like to fly them though.
I have umpteen dead Brit/French/US careers to prove it.

I'm noticing a pattern...

I guess I'm really bad - I find ways to die in the German crates too. Being serious - how much of this is down to engine management, specifically mixture? German crates have auto mixture and it takes a lot off the pilot, especially in a dogfight with varying altitudes.

I started tons of Eindecker careers and survived the first four weeks in one of them iirc and even in that career spent some time in hospital.

Can you tell me where to get the AI mod. It sounds like just what I need to make it back in one piece (well, that and some flying lessons).
