Shut off my PC fine last nite,

woke up this morning, hit the power button...

No Post, followed by BIOS Beeps, so i rebooted, same thing.

Shut it down for a few minutes, and checked wiring,

Power up, Posted, and got a warning on my screen from the POST, IN BOLD ALL CAP RED LETTERS.. Saying:

Your Previous Overclocking attempt was unsuccessful, your bios settings have been restored to defaults, (yada yada yada)

Press Enter to Continue, F1 to enter setup.

well, NOTHING was working on the USB Ports, except the the Saitek X52.

So, Unplugged everything, powered down again,

plugged in just SUB keyboard, and Mouse

Powered up, Same warning message.

Pressed F1 to enter setup, and all my bios settings were fine (I didnt have my CPU Overclocked at all to begin with.)

Saved settings and rebooted

Got into windows, all USB Devices are detected and function fine.

So its like,.. WTF happened, did something in windows try to dynamically O/C my CPU during shutdown last nite?
(Even though i dont have any programs running to do that.)

This is due to a number of reasons, but the main culprits are slight over voltage to the CMOS chip on startup (bc of line regulation disparity from the PSU). It happens from time to time, and you simply hit F1 or the Del key, enter the BIOS and go to the save section, and hit save changes, then reboot. It is usually not indicative of motherboard, or overclocking problems (if you werent overclocking to begin with).

S!

(yes, I am an ee)
