Just found the auto installer in a bunch of old SFP1 files. Anyone else from the old school still have that one?

But... biggrin

Amazing that site is still around. It must be the only remaining original site from the first days. Deuces had made a way point plotter that used that map back before the creation of the MEs. It could have had great applications in target placement had the developing continued on it.

Keith's website is still around.

I can't get the sfMap to work anymore for some reason. I guess with all the mods that TK made. I used his sfBrief alot of time when I was making mission back years ago.

SFMap dosen't work with sf2; probably the Unicode inis messing it up.

But...it still works with 08 patched 1stGens ... I have ONE remaining WoE install taht I use for creating planning maps with SFM

btw, the WW2 version has been up at CA for quite a while -- included a slightly fixed/modded one by me (just fixed the tgas, and added flags at the airbases)

Its too bad to lose the ability of the sfMap editor. I'm happy that Kreelin's editor has stayed up with the times and it works as an editor and a target display for placing targets.

That would be great Keith thanks.

What I have found is that the editor seems to be skewing the maps. I have tried it in a SFP2 Europe install for a terrain that I made for CFB Bagotville in Quebec covering from about Montreal out the St Lawrence and down into Maine. Bu the maps when they were produced were always skewed.

Appreciate the help.

I've tried it with the SF2 range terrain and the maps are fine?
Maybe you could upload your terrain and I'll try that?
BTW We've relatives in Montreal (Bay D'urfe) and visited a couple of years ago - went to Quebec and whale watching in Tadeusec.
Beautiful country...
Cheers

Cool.

OK, its been awhile since I looked at the problem. I'm sure there was a problem with the tile map export? I do have maps in there that show the height with the places. You can see both below. Also where there are different folders for the games now. I put the sfMap in the main folder where the terrain folders are and then I amend the ini to read G:\Strategy First\StrikeFighters2 Europe\Terrains. The sfMap will open but it won't detect the terrains as it used to in the SFP1 series. If I point it to the EASTCAN folder, still nothing in the drop down.

I guess when I was posing the problem Keith that it was the tile export that wasn't working in that terrain. Its really a beta as you can see the amount of targets that have been placed so far but it was something I was using for the CF100 and CF101 SQNs.

This is my EASTCAN. I'll look at this and see if the Tile Export works in it.

Really am glad to see you popped up here on this issue again Keith. I have found this game has lots of modellers, painters and ini modders but not the folks like yourself and Kreelin who created tools to do more with the game.
