I have a new computer with Windows 7. In my old computer I got resolution much higher than 1600 x 1200. I updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest set at 285.62, but still when I try and change the screen resolution, my highest option from Windows 7 is 1600 x 1200.

Can Win 7 support a higher resolution.

How do I fix this.

My specs is win7 64 bit, Nvidia GTX 580
i7- 2600K,3.40 ghz, 8 gb ram,

Windows is a 32 bit shell for a 16 bit extension to an 8 bit Operating System designed for a 4 bit microchip by a 2 bit company which can't stand 1 bit of competition.

Detect monitors again and see if it shows up.
Mine does that when I switch between monitors I've got hooked up, from one monitor (1280x1020) to another (1920x1080).

right click on your desktop
select change resolution
at the top is the button to detect monitors, hit that
change your resolution below to the correct one (assuming it shows up)
