I have the main game folder and my mod folder is in a different drive. The games work fine and your sfMap will find the GermanyCE terrain but it won't find any of my add on terrains.

mod folder?
Try editting the sfmap.ini file to point sfdir to your mod folder

The main folder for the root is in the C drive. The game runs and makes the mod folder in My Documents in the C drive. In there is the options ini where I point it off to my G drive where all my mods are. Game runs fine but nadda picking up any of the mod terrains. I even copied terrains into the game made mods folder and it didn't see them either. Just GermanyCE.

If I point it to the mods folder, it doesn't see anything.

Apologies I'm no longer allowed to access SimHQ from work, so dont get here often...
Does your mods folder not have a terrains folder into which the terrains go?
Assuming each terrain goes straight into the mods folder, I'll make a new version that doesnt insist on finding a terrains folder.
Cheers
Keith

Yeah, the main game folder and exe in the C drive points to another folder in the C drive. It's that Mods folder it creates and in it is an options.ini that points to a folder that has all of my mods in it and that lives on the G drive.

So I guess your exe is only seeing the first mods folder that has the stock terrain in it for Germany.

Wow! Nice to see all you old geezers are still alive, and have apparently avoided the lengthy prison sentences you no doubt desrve. biggrin

Thought I would just add some lost links for related bits in case something was useful. Most of this was done as a parallel project to find ways to use TK's SFMap Editor to make terrains for other sims, especially the Gunship:Times of Sand pack. Since the Gunship terrain design was fairly similar to EAW's, we came up with a way to make new terrains for either sim using TKs editor, or to translate those sims terrsin into SF. Note that EAW has some new map making tools, and the included utilities Keith built can translate in both directions, so there may be a way to use the new EAW tools in SF.

Or not. Rest assured that I haven't the slightest idea what I am on about.

Also my background sound player is sill around:

I'm sure SF has developed FAR beyond what Keith and I worked on in the old days. But I am very glad to sse that a venerable old firm is still in operation:

I have basically emulated Ulysses, and put a PC on my shoulder and started walking until someone asked me what it was. And there I settled down.

All the best to all-

I guess your 7 year sentence is over is it? Yes I well remember that site. Used that terrain quite a bit and BackTrax.

The Korea terrain, is that the terrain that was made for the original Korean Air war release that came out a few years ago? Funny how the seasons for terrain came back around again. It seemed folks got away from seasons and now the game will load the proper terrain for the time of the year selected. So its more useable now.
