Thanks for the Games guys, we will definitely need to get some practise in with torpedos... I am quite sure you are meant to detach them at some point, not enter the water with them still slung under the wings like I kept doing smile....

cheers,

My first real fly out online.

It was great fun Pobs, and thanks for hosting up. Yep, trying to get a torpedo off with a Ju88 is a real knack....

It's a good job that I, for one, enjoy swimming! smile

But really enjoyed it.....and EAW is looking better than ever!

Mike skins, and the work on terrain looks superb!

Why are you guys dropping your torpedoes at sea level, and getting your feet wet?

Love to see some pics of these swimming lessons. biggrin

Hi Col,

the problem is that the torpedos are pretty sensitive, to get a torpedo running you need to drop to below 100m, drop your speed to less than 150KPH or so, and be level and straight, to do this you need full flaps and nerves of steel in a big bird like the ju88, she only just flies at those speeds. It is all too easy to stall and drop into the sea on the approach, add in the flak storm as you approach to within strike distance (1000-1500metres) prior to release and you will see why the life of a torpedo plane pilot was short and wet.... as for screenshots, sorry I was too busy trying to stay in the air to take any, I will try next time.

cheers,

Pobs
