Very nice screenshots. thumbsup

I was confused when reading the title of this thread. But reading the DCS Black Shark forum and the official forums it all explains to me smile Very nice surprise.
Probably will get me the full version. And finally will get me TrackIR.
How is the HDR working right now? Does it effect all models? Also looking forward to the new dynamic shadows in cockpit. Improved mission editor, improved visuals, new campaign and better AI is all I need. Though I always ask myself what they have improved with the AI. We will see.

Anyways...keep the screenshots coming. Would love to see clear sshots of the dynamic shadows in cockpit. wink

Cheers

It seems ED just moved BlackShark into DCS A10 world so all of effects come from A10 title. I haven't had time to check much of anything. I've been relearning it's barbaric systems for now and probably will not get into campaign anytime soon.

Here's cockpit shot with selfshadow.

Good Luck!

Did you notice better performance than on BlackShark?

I haven't played original in a long time so it's difficult to compare. To me it seems performance is better. It's worth 20 green ones. They said sound system is reworked. Cockpit is remade to be faster. A lot of new models.

Great shots sim!

BS2 uses an all new EDM-based cockpit that allows things like self shadowing and it runs faster. Just this part alone took about three months of work. But, I think the results speak for themselves.

Thanks again for the terrific screen grabs.

So if the cockpit is redone...I'm guessing...the cockpit mods from the older versions will not work? Not a biggie... I'm sure new mods will popup.

Downloading the full version of BS2 right now smile

Wow. Why was this such a suprise? No marketing? Seems rather odd. Good thing I sold my copy of Black Shark a few weeks ago.

Maybe I'll pick this up down the road but right now I have my hands full with A10c.

Well, not really, as if you still had it you could get BS2 for $20, but since you don't it's $40. smile

Sure wish I could get BS2 working. Have BS1 updated and went ahead and deleted it all the way and re-installed BS1. Then tried to install BS2 and it says I must install BS1. I already did and even
tested it out. Funny thing was I did not have to register it again, must have not removed it all.
Sure wish I could get it working.

No joy.
Does this mean I must find 1.0.1 update and install ?

Just to get BS2 to install ?

This is really sad. I tried to upgrade to 1.0.1 and then install BS2. No luck.
Get pissed at this point. Go and use the Black Shark un-installer and not only did it
deletel BS1 it also took my desktop shortcut for A-10. So I check my A-10 folders
in my 32 bit area and some of it is missing.
So now I must re-install A-10 and BS1 again. Jeez, what a pain in the you know what.

Hi guys, I managed to install this with no issues, this is what I did,

Renamed BS1 original install folder to eagle dynamics 1.02

Then reinstalled BS1. ( vanilla straight from the disc )

Started her up and reentered the reg code.

Exit and installed BS 2

Start up and enter New Reg code

enjoy the upgrade.

hope this helps

Thanks, but this only helps those who have purchased the BS disk.
I have the digital download with no disk. And this won`t
work for it.

I've had issues with installer so after uninstalling 1.02, I installed 1.0 (basic version that I saved...download version). Without even running it, I installed BS2. It only asked for a code when game started simulation. Never had to enter original BS1 key anywhere...

Also I'm seeding BS2 patch at this time. Enjoy.

I just uninstalled the 1.02 patch, rebooted and then installed the upgrade and it worked fine.

I was goofing off too much and made good contract with that Yak40 which forced my gear back in the wheelbase. Then I decided to find limits of damage model and used front gear to smash window/top of poor little Yak. Damage model sure did improve since that wouldn't be possible before.

Tried it exactly like you said Sim, still get the Black Shark must be installed error. Even downloaded
a new Exe from them only get the same response. Frustrated to say the least. $20 for BS2 I can`t even
install.

That's why I'm waiting for the updated installer before I buy it. It should accept ANY version of BS on your machine, 1.0, 1.01, 1.02, DL, disk, or Steam.

Well, it doesn't yet, so make sure you're trying to install over the English version of Black Shark 1.0 only. Uninstall any patches you have right now, or instal a fresh 1.0 somewhere else and use that to upgrade from.

Or do what I did and simply buy the full version and have been playing since 2 hours after release with no errors. wink

No thanks, I have owned BS1 since the day it was released. Never moved on my HD and yet the stupid installer for BS2 says it not on my HD. I would not pay full price for it again, when I can`t even
a patch to work. Lets see, I have un-installed and re-installed BS1 8 times now, testing all these
great ideas that will get everyone else working but me. I have 4 Hard drives and tested all of them.
It does not work.

JimK - I know it's frustrating (I'm keen to buy too, but I've got the Steam version that isn't recognized yet) but the only thing to do seems to see if they update with a new installer either later today or perhaps Monday.
