It's going to vary from mission to mission, even moment to moment. Different missions will create different flight packages that may have a greater or lesser effect on aircraft.

The improvements that I made ae the following ...
1. Don't spawn other flights until they have a critical action to perform.
2. Don't spawn infantry unless close to aircraft.
3. Give the user easy to use configuration options.

This is how they tie in ...
There will usually not be much in the air when you take off.
As other flights and their targets spawn things will slow down.
How much they slow down depends on exactly what got put on the map.
As missions either complete or aircraft are lost things speed up again.

I could do it all on proximity, but I'm stubborn so I'm not going to do that. The fact that other flights actually fly with a purpose is what makes the missions enjoyable and interesting. I will, however, continue to make iterative improvements. For instance, removing ground units once nobody is within range is one thing that should be possible. Maybe doing something with air units that gets them off the map earlier, but that is trickier - I do have an idea though.

Thnk of it this way ... time acceleration used not to work at all with my missions generator, so we're making progress smile.

Hi Gremlin - might have been user ignorance too smile. I was just stuck in a state where I culd not reliably get the latest up and have it marked as the latest. We'll work on it.

The TC is very good now. Anyway, it's most useful at the beginning and then the end of a mish. That's when you want to fly home to finish it, and TC comes in handy.

I see. So then do enemies de-spawn at some point if they run away? The mission I flew yesterday where time accel was working fully I got into a scrap with five albatros DIIIs, but after killing two of them and my ally one, I saw the other two start heading southward, but I looked away for just a second to find my allies but when I looked back I couldn't find the DIIIs anywhere. It was really odd and seemed as though they up and disappeared.

At the moment aircraft only disappear after landing or crash. They do not disappear based on proximity.

One thing that I would like to do is make other flights disappear when they reach their egress WP if the player is not close. From egress flights go to approach and landing - which is not really necessary if the player is nowhere near. What I cannot do is make planes disappear simply based on lack of proximity. Other flights might be a good distance away before they cross your path. However, by the time they hit their egress WP they are committed to going home.

I want to do the same with infantry units. They currently spawn based on aircraft proximity. I can deactivate them based on lack of aircraft activity.

For those that didn't see my post on th ROF forum you will always be able to get the latest build of Pat's Campaign Generator here:

http://www.777studios.net/ROF_Utilities/Pat_Wilson_ROF_Campaign_Latest.zip

I'll update the useful materials page when my person who updates it is available again. He has been sick.

Hello again Pat, is there no way to force the game to let me use full time compression? I've been completely spoiled by your campaigns and will not go back to B Career until everything PWCG does is implemented into Bcareer.

That being said, not being able to finish a mission with relative quickness is curbing my interest in the game, I have to set aside a couple hours to finish a mission because time compression usually won't work above 2-4X, flying my No.56 SQN campaign I have a long ways to travel so missions take a long time without 16x. Is it just the game that disables features based on how much stuff is going on or is this something you programmed into missions?

Hi, just downloaded the latest from Jason's link and every time I try to start it I get a box telling me that it cannot start because of a critical startup error. Am I missing something???
OK panic over, it had something to do with B****y Nokia Ovi Suite trying to take over the world, had this problem before and forgot what caused it, sorry.

RedPiano: The time compression is simply a performance thing. Different rigs, different missions, etc. When you set it at 16x and you're getting 3x, the system is trying as hard as it can. Think of Scottie telling Kirk - "she's givin ya all she's got".

In the meantime, I am still trying to improve performance.
