Yeah, I saw that and came to this conclusion: They can call it Rainbow 6: Seven Eight for all I care, as long as they reverse the trend the R6 Vegas games introduced and return to Raven Shield if not Rogue Spear-style gameplay.
Of course, I know we have more chance of a president changing parties before a reelection than that happening.

There's no way we'd get a "real" Rainbow like they've promised us with this, but if it's at least like Conviction was it would still be a step up from other shooters these days. If it has some no-respawn games in MP it would actually be a huge step up from the norm now.

a step up from the norm isn't enough. what's needed is a giant leap considering how far the standards have sunk.

2013 with Ubisoft's Clancy delays means 2015 IF you're lucky. Don't know if I'll even care by then. I have no idea what's wrong with them for the last few years, it's like they're on the brink of shutting down with how slow they are with the Clancy games, which used to be most of their main gaming.

Don't forget Ghost Recon Future Soldier which has been delayed multiple times and from what I can tell has had the PC version cancelled. Will GR be like MOH and R6 like COD? Frankly, as much as I liked COD1 and its expansions, and MOHAA and its expansions, by now I'm tired of their style of heavily scripted action. It has no replayability. It's like how many times will you watch a certain movie? I tired of their MP long ago, back when the Iraq war was still fresh, so they offer nothing to me. CoD:MW3? Really? Annual releases offer no quality, only quantity and incremental upgrades.
Actually, I sort of hope Ubi does this and floods the market, weakening the demand for CoD so they and all the others stop it.

It looks like they have gone from meticulous and challenging mission planning and execution, to blowing out candles on cupcakes.

The latest issue of GameInformer had a big writeup on it. Essentially, the Tea Party goes nuts and starts killing a lot of people.
