Not sure what it is about this game, but I am just plain terrible at it. I'm talking about getting 5 kills and getting killed 15 times. Maybe its good I don't play with you guys.

I know, but it never seems like anyone is on comms. Not sure if my headset is broken or not. Maybe I'll look some of you guys up and find out.

BF is one you CAN play well without comms. Join a squad and be a good team mate. Turn up the volume and listen to the in-game comms. They'll often tell you more than human team mates if you listen up.
Also, real BF games (read: not the infantile TDM) isn't about your k/d ratio. You can be very effective without getting kills.

RK is exactly right. In the last match I played earlier today, I was only 5-13 but I was 3rd on my team in points because I captured control points, dished out ammo and med kits and revived a few fallen commrades. Of course, it didn't hurt that I was on comms with Philonious but you can get by and be succesfull without a mic (though I strongly recommend one).

BF is different than CoD in that regard. You can be a great squadmate and really help your team by paying attention to the in-game comms and striving to be a team player. The game rewards you very well for that type of gameplay.

Besides, NO one on the planet is worse at BF than I was at MP Halo. I must have been the worst player of all time. Really, it would take a poet to adequately describe my level of suck. You'd have to invent a new word for how bad I was at that.

It really did make a difference playing with Leemz. That is the first time I got to fire it up with anyone from the group, and I did pretty well. You are right RK about the points and not getting kills to be successful, and that is how I play. I get wasted alot, but I'm handing out med packs and reviving people like crazy.

Some of my most fun rounds have been piloting which often means few kills. We played a round of Rush where we ran a chopper crew almost the entire time. I flew, 2 ran guns, 1 did repairs while flying. I had no guns in this one, so all I had to do was circle, drop flares, juke stingers and try to stay steady so the gunners could do their work. The repair guy used his rifle, RPG and fixed us in flight. None of us got a lot of kills, especially me, but we did a great job supporting the team and racked up points. Heck of a lot of fun, we only got brought down a couple of times.
Gotta say, the choppers are a lot more fun and useful, the jets are just too fast and short range with the missiles. You can wreak all kinds of havoc in a chopper. Love the mini bird the most. A lot of players go right to the jets, so get used to the choppers and you have more chances to learn the flying role, can be more effective and have more ways to work it. You move up faster in XP pts that way too.

I played with Slash last night and absolutely tore it up. Had some really good rounds in there. I really do think that it makes a huge difference when you play with people on comms.

That was a good night Phil. You just needed to get used to the environments. I knew you would come around! Anytime you see me on and you fell like kicking some more butt, send me a note (that goes for anyone).

@ Raw - You have to do me a huge favor. Can you give a quick explanation of helicopter contrlos? I feel like I have never played an xbox game in my life when I try to control these stupid things. All I can do is go straight up and then straight down to an explosive death. It is the only vehicle in the game I can't figure out.
