Checking out my old programs, I found the ole 757 by PSS (FS9 version). When I bought this add-on, my PC could only run it under 5 fps, so I uninstalled it, kept it somewhere and forgot about it until now. Today, I have a PC that's powerful enough to run it, even in VC view.
I found a problem, though I'm not sure if it's a real problem or not.
Setting up the plane in Load Editor with only 2 pilots, 3 techs, 7000 lbs fuel and nothing else, Load Editor told me that the CG is 11%. I thought this is too small. And, then the FMC requested a stab trim value of 10(!) with that CG.
So, even with derated T/O thrust (though I admit I don't remember setting up the plane for reduced climb thrust) that 757 rotated by herself even with me still inputting a slight pressure forward on the joystick. And then she climbed with pitch attitude that would startle even an F-4 pilot!
Going back to Load Editor and setting the payload and fuel to extreme full (it even carried 10 techs for God knows what reason) the CG was only 23%. I'm not familiar with 757, so the question is: is that CG and stab trim figure correct? Somehow the CG seems too small and the stab trim too high for me.
Thanks.
