As silly as that is, you can get it as bundle with RS2012 for half the price of RS alone.

Yep, I suppose it is at least an imaginative way to do a sale/bundle.

You kinda of wonder if one day they'll make the base game free (even if they cut it down a bit) and then just make money from routes/trains/scenarios. A lot of collectors seem quite specific in what they like (i.e. UK shunters or Amtrack routes but not both).

I hope so, or at least lower the cost and the content. I think an introductory bundle with 1 steam and/or 1 diesel and a single route for $15 or so would be much more appealing to the majority of sim-gamers. I assume I am like most sim-gamers and have a hard time imagining how this game could be fun or challenging. Indeed, having recently purchased it I am still not sure it was worth full price, though it is interesting

At first I couldn't help but groan ("Trains and zombies? Ugh"), but zombies do make everything better. On closer look it looks like the DLC is a series of missions that use zombies as the plot mechanism. This could be pretty neat!

For 2.99 it's worth it just for the giggle value.
