I loaded the HARM TE and tried to use Chaff/Flares without any luck. Is there something I have to switch on or a particular protocol I have to follow in order to dispense chaff/flares?

Hi Wedge!
It seems that you forgot to programm the countermeasure system.
I have no link at hand but it should be mentioned in the manual of BMS!

Thanks. I thought I could just assign the key commands to my HOTAS just like in DCS A10C and dispense manually when needed.

The secret is the Data Cartridge - at its simplest, open it when you are in the TE planning screen, got to the ECM tab, hit reset, save and load and hey presto, you will at least have some chaff and flares when you hit your programmed key.

yes you have to have them programmed into your data catridge. The DC gets loaded up every mission except for ramp starts (if you choose that in config) and by default the EWS section has nothing programmed. Only need to do it once and its pretty easy.

You can release manually if you set the ECM MODE switch to BYP (left aux console).

Great info - thanks guys.

I programmed my DC for Flares and Chaff. So far I have Program 1 set to go, but now I'm trying to map the CMS to my HOTAS - as I scrolled through the keycommand list I only see CMS Left for Program 6?

Programs 1 to 4 are selected through the PRGRM knob on the CMDS panel, left auxiliary console. The keystrokes would be SHIFT+Z and SHIFT+X to select the previous/next program.

EDIT: And either the Z or X key to actually run that program.

So I would program the CMS on my stick like this?

CMS up = SHIFT+X (for next program)
CMS dwn = SHIFT+Z (for previous program)
CMS left = Z or X (to run the selected program)
CMS right = ?

In order to run Program 1 I would hit CMS Up on the stick then CMS Left?

Take a look at page 114-118 of the BMS manual. The CMDS and the CMS switch are detailed there.

Does anyone know how to slow down the radar cursor or TGP when your are using your HOTAS cursor. DCS A-10 has that ability on the Maverick MFD page and but I have not found it for Falcon BMS. The cursor slew much too fast and I would like to slow it down a bit. ANy help would be great thanks. I have a Warthog HOTAS if that helps.

I was just going to ask the same question on Chaff and Flares. I'm working on a more user friendly Command File for BMS 4.32 to be used in Control Manager. I got to HAT 3 on my FighterStick, and...

CMS up = run selected program (1-4)
CMS left = run program 6
CMS right = jammer on / auto-semi consent
CMS down = jammer off / stop consent

You should program just the CMS callbacks on your stick (there are callbacks in the controls called CMS up, right, etc)
