Limiter? Don't you mean the dynamic vsync, where it's on if you maintain 60fps or higher, but turns off when you drop below? It's not really a limiter (although practically I suppose it functions the same way).
The Jedi Master No, a frame rate limiter that will limit frame rates to the amount you choose for the game you choose, differnt than the vsync on and off switch. Nvidia will soon include one in the control panel.

So you are telling me that a driver made exclusively to boost a new game and jump on the marketing ploy bandwagon has borked previously working games ? NO WAY ! and nvidia did this ? unbelievable, i'm speechless, that can't be a new bussiness pratice now,can it ? the shock !!!
i believe the first game they started with this crap was battlefield 2. or doom 3.Thats why i like to keep me old drivers, and hate when a game force you to download new, there is simply no need.

Hi,
just did around 2 h flying in FSX. No probs whatsoever.
I had to deactivate 4 HD Audio thingies in the controlcenter though to bring the sound back. I think the new driver installed them.
edit: just did a short testflight in CoD, no prob either.

Ty kilosierra and others. Part of the problem is that some of the computers in the lab are running Nvidia 3D Vision stuff or the iZ3D driver, and this is part of the problem (ty Helios... you're earning your keep for once). Still digesting.... more when I pinpoint it.

Ok....DCS A-10c.....Fine. IL-2 1946 (UP 3.0).....Fine DCS Black Shark....Fine FC:2...........Fine Rise of Flight...Fine Falcon 4.......Fine Cliffs of Dover....Fine. BOB II WOV....Fine They are all running well and there is nothing out of the ordinary, both graphics and sounds. WD, can you go into more detail as to what is actually 'borked' mate? Can you even start the sims? Bizarre, no problems whatsoever here, they are actually very good drivers on my setup. Excellent framerates and very smooth. It's bugging me why you are having trouble with them. i7 940 P6T Deluxe MB GTX 580 6gb DDR3 @1600mhz 'SoundMax' onboard sound W7 64 bit Let us know how you get on WD.....hope you get it sorted. Just read your edit WD, must be 3d related by the sounds of it (don't use that myself).

Well with so many others reporting good success, content to leave it as a forewarning for now. Still investigating Biggles, but glad everything running smooth for ya. I am running a few weird setups in the lab (like stuff in 3D and or with Matlab), so still looking into it.

My experience with 32 bit vista and these drivers.
All my sims and other games OK( and slightly better frame rates) but has screwed Nvidia control panel, on closing I get 3.9.730.0 has stopped working, Data Execution prevention ( which I think is a Windows method of control so another application does not use memory exclusive for Windows). Luckily any changes made are saved so a weird problem). Seeing as these drivers are Windows lab approved , I have sent Nvidia tech support an e-mail. Interestingly on their own forum website a number of other people are reporting the same problem.

You mean many people are having the control panel crash after use? That's an odd one.

Issue resolved. Took me awhile to take apart this driver and see what was going on. The problem concerns SLI users who have 3D stereoscopic view enabled as they update the driver. When the new driver is installed, it reverts to non-SLI mode and must be reset, but this interferes with the a registry edit of the previous 280 driver.
I know this only affects about six guys, but if you are using 3D Surround or 3DTV Play, reset to normal resolution before updating the driver.

(sorry to panic normal users)
