Ok so I know the pilot is safe, and say this in the most sincere manner possible. Please let the aircraft be the POS one that has always caused problems.

There are stories about certain F-15s in the USAF's inventory that either never functioned properly off the factory floor or got bent in use at squadrons, but their damages were never quite within the regs to retire them so they remained in use. Panther's referring to the infamous one at Nellis.

Sad news it wasn't our 'Christine'... damnit. Oh well, very thankful the pilot ejected out. Breaks the string of fatal crashes we have had here at Nellis.

Panther, if you want, I can send an ex-Army buddy of mine who singlehandedly destroyed more M1 Abrams tanks than the entire Iraqi army during Desert Storm to take care of your problem. (A base in Western Germany wanted new M1A2 Abrams tanks and hilarity ensued...)

The general public does not understand the state of disrepair among many of our military aircraft. I've only heard about it in the past from those who are active-duty.

Sounds like car ownership; at some point it's more expensive to maintain the old one than to buy a new.

Also, "state of disrepair" isn't something that should ever be used to describe an active aircraft...
