I would be overjoyed to be proven wrong but ISI's record on meeting promised dates over the last two years does not give me cause to be overly hopeful. Also, their hinted at timeline of getting a beta and a regular version out by the end of the year seems oddly ambitious, to say the least.

If the purpose of the beta is to get testing results that cannot be obtained by in-house testing then you would ordinarily allow some reasonable time for the testing to occur and then some time for fixing any problems that are surfaced by the testing. The end of the year is 9 weeks away. You do the math and tell me if that is sufficient unless you make the wishful thinking assumption that no problems are found.

Like Dave, I highly doubt that we'll see rF2 by the end of the year.....and, as long as they release a finished product, I have no problem with that.

I honestly doubt that it's going to meet some of the "oh wow!" levels of graphics we've seen lately, such as C.A.R.S, given it's engine and base. I'm more interested in the "nuts and bolts" of it myself anyway, things like flat-spotted tires from overzealous braking, transistion body roll and track surface differences. If it does those things well, I can be more than happy with the current level of graphics from it that we've seen in screens and videos.
