Ok I love this sim and where I feel it will take us in the hopefully near future. However it is a little more than distractive when your plane, which hasn't even been started drifts across the ground and points it's self into a building or tree. And often starting the engine makes it worse. Now I've tried to search this subject with no results. Does anyone know what this is, or what it might be and if i can fix it?

It's a known bug. The developers are aware of it but there are so many other high priority, game-breaking issues that need to be fixed first that they simply haven't got around to it.

In the meantime you can try using your wheel brakes.

Keep in mind of course that your aircraft will always swing to one side while taxiing. This is unrelated to the bug, and is caused by engine torque.

A lot of it is from the default spawn points in the airfields. Some of them obviously weren't tested in development, as you can spawn on a hill, or inside a hangar too small for you aircraft, or slightly offset from the actual ground level. With time and effort, you can fix these in the maps, but the sheer number of airfields + the number of spawn points on each airfield makes this a very daunting task. (1 airfield in the Biggin Hill area, can't remember if it is actually Biggin Hill has 128+ spawn points to have to check).

The wind settings is too high in some missions. Reduce it in FMB. ...or apply brakes on spawn.

Sounds like a bug yes, perhaps a lack of friction with un-braked wheels

There's a key setting in there for (sort-of) removing chocks

S! and welcome Ataros if you are 'our' scriptmeister Ataros Smile2

LOL. Thank you! This is the place I learned about upcoming IL-2 Sturmovik back in 1999/2000. Still remember "the best flightsims" review featuring Warbirds, B-17 Flying Fortress, etc. back in 1997/1998 smile It is a great place to be.

It happened in IL2 as well which proves it wasn't the ground-up coding re-write which they said it was in the early days of development.

Unfortunately, there are several physics limitations in CLOD that carried over directly from IL-2, including the intangible trees and the phenomenon where planes explode upon touching anything that's not ground, no matter what their speed.

Uh...

Trees in IL2 were of two sorts: The actual trees and the cosmetic trees. Cosmetic trees had no collision models, but the actual trees (forests) definitely were tangible.

Well if we're being picky, there were three types of trees in IL2: The cosmetic ones, the solid ones in and around towns (with huge collision boxes!) and the forests, to which the previously mentioned 'exploding plane syndrome' applies.
