Reporting on state-of-play. The latest version is sumptuous hurray Multiplayer, me and leader hopping over to France. He tells me about the exhaust gases, that fully-burned fuel shows a blue exhaust flame and redder exhaust flames being a sign of unburnt fuel. I know about fuel burning colours but to see the exhaust flames changing colour by sticking my head out of the cockpit- marvellous and the engine changing note, the two-flight Hurricanes' engine notes combining, making that lovely sound that the Chinese have for their X. I've never seen a better sun in a flight sim it's actually blinding and rendered beautifully. Coastlines, very beautiful now at all heights Well worth re-visiting if it seemed too much of a hassle last time you flew it. I wasn't really one to get into engine management but the flying is so realistic using it that I'm glad I stuck with it. That's even more England down there now. No, excitable passenger- we are mostly too high to see 1940-signature features. It's a version of England, a highly satisfactory version of the old place <sniff> In other words, there's an emotional resonance now in there in the slightly-watercolour-blurred scenes. Much more naturalistic, less hard-edge. The sheer beauty of the latest rendering sings out to eyecandy nuts like us doesn't it Ming

I've been playing gamish games Frey while waiting for CoD to settle down, so I played the mission like an RPG. We found France 'You have discovered a new continent..' My people* were unhappy with the DayGlo of Maddox, after the latest and most welcome Patch of Steam it seems safe to proceed across the er, Straits of Dover. Kind of fizzled out at the end there fair enough but RPGs can do this, the end once fizzled out is impossible to re-ignite apparently, or lose a finger to the treacherous Touchpaper of Banga. Well i just reread it, and yes i was at work and not in Mings enviroment at all when i did , skimming and not taking in.
Plenty of thoughts the second time around, i even listened to Fame , he was a bit of a woman stealer wasn't he , i'm sure the Maquis was very unimpressed and judging by the suicide bridge i reckon he really paid his dues on that one.But back in Clod land, yes , who would have thought we would have been poking our heads out of cockpits and looking at flames to make sure we had mixtures right, quite brilliant. Getting used to actually flying sort of puts shooting down the Luftwaffe a bit down on the list of things to do and worry about. Stepping out from games like eaw and then il2 and into Clod really puts it right up at another level. The ladder has been extended very well and is still going. All we need is a bit of grit on the floor rolling around in the pit as we invert so we can land and take a strip of the groundcrew and we are nearly as good as it gets regards flying pixels around. Rather amazing how far it has come when you look back only ten years.
Work to be done still as we all know but you nailed it very well Ming, and hardly a drop of Minglish in there beside's poor old Geordie, he is still having a good run though , even without the Flames.
