The bookshelf, that holds all your pdf manuals and guides... full view, scalable, searchable, and in color...

SWEET.

And I was mad that I couldn't delete the icon (like all the other apple crap I don't want....), actually I'm still mad but at least I can find a use for it. Please let me know if you know how to get rid of apple apps (without jailbreaking).

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

My thoughts to. I wanted to take my gaming pdfs and drop them in my book folder for Itunes and it refuses to see them.

I figured it out, all I did was search out the websites that held these pdfs and open them in safari and then open in I books where it will
save them. tested it out on my Ipod Touch 4g.

if you can download a pdf all you have to do is import file in itunes, then sync.

On other great use is for ispeed. I just started with iracing and display iSpeed on it to get a great overview of my split times while learning the track. (I use a basic template from my ipadpit to get it displayed on my ipad)

The manual library is cool.

You could look at Desrat's Touchdown for input panels:

You don't even need to sync. If you can view the manual online (like you can with DCS manuals, when you open it there is an option at the top to view with iBook. Then it puts it there. I had made a category on the bookshelf called Flight Simulation so my manuals don't get mixed up with manuals I download for whatever appliances I have bought.

I used to be an advocate of GoodReader for my manuals, but something about iBook for whatever reason appeals to me more. Maybe it's the bookshelf smile

With iCloud you should be able to sync it with your phone as well - for those times when you want to study up in bathrooms other than your own smile

Yeah one of my favorite uses for my iPad is as a live mnual for all my games and especially FSX plane manuals, though I prefer GoodReader because I like to organize them in folders.

The bookshelf is handy if you just want to read a manual, but Goodreader is still handy because it lets you make changes and annotations. I find it really handy to highlight the important bits while I am reading, it saves me a lot of time when I have to look something up later.

I use the kindle for that exact same purpose. How is reading on the Ipad compared to an e-book reader? In terms of Eyestrain and ability to read over a longer period, of say 3-4 hours. I did that with no eyestrain on the Kindle Keyboard. Just out of curiosity.
