it looks great , but I cant see what all the excitement is about when all it can get used for is wargaming and training. If it were Iran Id be excited. But this , its just a sandbox , not a theater.

Have you actually played DCS Warthog? It is probably a sim that most needs a war-gaming and training range more than any other sim...

The Nellis area needs an update. After the storms a few months back, the sunshades seen at :29 are no longer there. Amazing job, and I'm excited to see Creech too. Although I didn't enjoy the hr drive to work there, seeing the base in game will be cool.

I'd say the target is military, not DCS. While its very unlikely that you actually go into other country and make an air raid on, virtually training Redfrag might be more demanded.. again for military.

A clever mission designer could craft a very believable Afghanistan out of portions of the Nevada terrain. And while simulating dropping fake bombs on a simulated test range may not be everyone's idea of a great time, I know there are a lot of folks who are chomping at the bit to get to do just that.

The first time I saw pictures of Afghanistan my first thought was that it looked just like the desert in Arizona. Wheels

^Ditto! And we can use it for fictional Red Dawn scenarios........... WOLVERINES!!!!! Yes yes yes and more yes. I would play the hell out of that campaign. I've already started thinking about a scenario like that for a campaign, I just hope ED leaves the airfields aircraft-less unless there is some way to remove them I don't know about.

To have quality training map is good but I remember it is you that said creating map costs hell of time and work, the reason why 3rd party people never finished a single map in the past. Now, why chose Nevada first....? took a first place in a community poll or something? I believe there should be more desired place than Nevada, if the target was DCS customer? dont take this as any offense just a simple question. edit* forgot to put quote

Because that's the job that was started (by 3rd party, BTW) and because material was available. It is certainly an appropriate place for making training missions for US aircraft, as well as red flag scenarios. And if you have some imagination, I suppose you can invent some afganistani/iraqi types of scenarios dont take this as any offense just a simple question.
