I have to say that this two free DLCs are absolutely amazing. The feel, the immersion, the setup changes reactions are superb. Of course many of us are spoiled by C.A.R.S. graphics, but everywhere else this one delivers. No lag!!!!! :-)
The FF is IMO better than rFactor, and the graphics are flawless. I get 150-300 FPS in Jerez when testing. And same place, at standing start, starting from back of 24 cars grid (16 cars visible) I never dropped below 90. Amazing!
Online: I only tested session with one other car and we drove close to each other at Jerez, FPS never below 140!
The modern Reiza Formula car is based on 2010 F1. And they seem to be spot on as much as speeds are concerned. Fastest winter testing laptime in 2010 was 1:18,8. Here AI are topping qually at 1:19,3. And I am 3 seconds off them. Seems quite right to me :-)
There are two engineering manuals available here that made my brain twist when I tried to read it quickly. Fantastics read on certain aspects of vehicle dynamics. Tyres and suspention section was great read. And numerous tables on aero balance equotations looks like taken from Adrian Newey's assistant handbook.
http://www.racedepartment.com/game-stock...ion-theory.htmlThis is the best single seater experience I have ever had. The understeer feels like torture. The oversteer arrives in several levels, from 'oopps it was close, grils have you seen me there?' to 'oopps, this one is going to hurt'.
I only played with one seeting so far - engine brake map. And boy... you can feel the difference. No wonder real F1 plays so much with engine maps.
Untill rF2 arrives I am going to use this one as elementary setup school, as I have confidence this game is made right in this department.
quote from game creators:
"While we have had positive comments from F1 insiders, real data is not available to us but with experience in CART, GP2, GP3 and F3, we at Reiza feel we have a good understanding of the single seater racing car. Inevitably we will have made some assumptions that might make Andrian Newey frown a little bit, but the Formula Reiza represents our absolute effort in making a virtual car with F1 like characteristics"
