Next Tuesday, 10/25, Battlefield 3 will be released world wide... I have both the 360 and PC versions pre-ordered... lets hoping for a smooth launch.

What I'm really hoping for is that the platoons we made in the beta, will still be active, hate for everyone to have to rejoin... but if it's gone, no worries, I will be putting up a 360 platoon and a PC platoon as soon as able... also for us PC gamers, already have our server pre-ordered and ready for day 1 launch, if all goes smooth... to start with, it will be a normal server with both main modes of play...we will then adjust as needed, requested... we got this RANKED 36 player server for 3 months... depending on use and activity, I will decide to extend at that time.

Thou I plan on being very active with BF3... at least for a few months. (even planning on skipping next season of iRacing for BF3, lol) I will need active and trusted officers to assist with 1) the PC server, 2) 360 organizational play, and 3) forum info and activity... because I work nights, only off 2 nights a week...and nights is when most people play... and I haven't decided what platform I will spend most of my time on... I had planned on mostly PC... but with tech issues from earlier versions, an aging system, the withdraw of platoon size comms, and just the fact that thou the 360 is weak in graphics and gameplay, it makes up in stability and ease of use. (I couldn't program keys in the beta, and if that happens in the final...goodbye PC... I'm left handed and MUST be able to reprogram keys...but we will see.)

Just let me know your interested, what platform... and after I see proper activity levels, I'll give you command.

ALSO... just a heads up... within days of release I look to publish a small article here at SimHQ called a tactics guide for BF3.... a guideline of proper tactics and teamwork play... but don't worry, not a set of must follow rules like some other groups do. Just hints and tips... and then weeks later my review of the game for both PC and 360... stay tuned.

Looking forward to BF3, I have it pre-ordered on the PC because like you I thought they were going to put everything into it ,but doesn't seem to be the case from the features they dropped.

I'll probably end up getting it for the PC and 360 and looking forward to some games with everyone here.

Edit: I don't think it's 25th October worldwide, I think it's 25th U.S, Japan, Australia etc and I think it's out on 28th in UK and 27th Europe.

Battlefield Play4Free is more stable than the "Beta" was, which of course many people took it as a "demo" when it was a beta, I wonder how many people actually did what they were supposed to and submitted bugs to the developers.

I'll be on for the 360, I'm not into the racing so it will all I'll be playing when I know people are on.

I'm in for the 360 for sure on day of release.

PC version may come later, if at all. MY PC is about a year old and not sure it'll handle it (never got around to trying the beta on PC).

I've scheduled a vacation day around BF3 release but due to work priorities I may have to cancel that.

360 day one purchase for me.

Got 360 version pre-ordered. It's out on the 27th in Australia unless it breaks street date. (being such a huge title I really doubt it will though) I'm planning to be into it pretty heavily for at least the first week. The time zone differences might make Platoon ops harder for me, but I'll be there when I can.

you do know that most likely, there will be major server issues for the first week or so... but yet most of us will try try try.

I'll probably play mostly the PC version with you guys, since I have my forumrunners.com clan on the 360. There will be some days when I will also play with you guys on the 360.

I don't know if you can join more then one platoon ? It would be nice if you could.

I'm very much looking forward to this release, and since we know the beta was really old and most of those bugs were already fixed, I'm also hoping for a smooth release,,, HOWEVER this is Dice and EA !

The back up plan is to head to forza if servers are wonky for the first few tries. LOL Nothing worse than spending the first night trying to connect for hours just to get in 30 minutes of game time.
It wasn't TOO bad last time, mainly just issues getting into the same squad, but yeah, 2-3 days before the servers are reliable. With any luck they're beefed up now since they're seriously trying to take over the fps market again.

Forza's Server already went through the wonky period.

Pre-Ordered on PC for Karkand but too busy with Forza4 to play for a while, will probably wait to play with SimHQ folks instead of the public servers full of spawn camping asshats.

I hear you Magnum. I preordered 6 games myself (GOW, Forza4, Batman (great game BTW), Battlefield, MW3 & Skyrim). But what a great several months of gaming it will be!!

So is everyone pretty much getting the 360 version or are there any PS3 users? I have both consoles and was unable to tell a huge difference between the two during the beta. I will def be getting the PC version, but for the console I'm on the fence between 360 and PS3.

I have both but always go 360 because the friends, joins, in game comms are always better then the PS3.

I have SOCOM 4 for the PS3... thou it's a good game, it sucks because few are ever on comms... and I've noticed that with alot of PS3 games I've tried, while the 360 kinda forces comms on you by requiring it in each game and supplying the headset. lol

Reviews are poping up, altough as of now it's only the PC reviewed. Some kind of day 1 patch is expected for the console, until than we have to wait:

IGN gives it a 9, and Gamespy gives it 5/5. A swedish gaming site gave it 5 out of 5 as well.

I might be picking this one up later then the release. Recent events have made my $$ spread thin unfortunately, and the fact I picked up Forza 4 the other day, I doubt the wifey will warrant another game purchase this soon. But when I do it will be for the 360

I went to my local game stop last night at midnight to pick it up, then went home to bed. I'll be playing the SP as soon as I get home, then will be getting on MP later this weekend. My trip to VA was pushed back to next Monday.
