I'm just curious about the sim racing habits of people here. I'd like to do more of it online than I currently do, but family interests limit my time and finding a regular group can be tough.

I know everyone here has an interest - otherwise we wouldn't be here. But I wanted to see if people were willing to describe their habits. I threw a few questions into a poll, but if you have any other input that'd be great to hear as well.

You missed one option that I would've picked:
I only race online with a couple of people I know with AI cars filling out the field.

The Jedi Master

That's certainly an option I never would have considered, mainly because it's so rare that I see people do it.

I've considered it myself, but rarely find a sim where the AI is trustworthy enough.

I'm the same as Jedi except that I did race on some open public servers in F1 2010 and Dirt 2 because I wanted to get certain achievements.

I race offline, but don't think that online is silly - (I know you were only kidding ) - I admire people who can handle online life in general, and online racing in particular.

Not clear if you want iRacing to apply to this poll?

If so then I would qualify for:

* I join open/public races on occasion (iRacing)
* I race in a regular league (a race every 1 or 2 weeks) (iRacing SimHQ All American League)

If this is meant to gather info for the non-iRacing SimHQ stuff I don't want to skew the data.

It wasn't meant to be specific to any sim, so you're good biggrin

Cool voted, thanks to iRacing, I do a lot more open/public races than I would do otherwise :-)

Looking forward to racing much more with non-iRacing SimHQ'ers once rF2 or CARS comes out.

I picked the last option but not because i'm against online racing; its a matter of time available and the fact that I just started racing so my meager skills would not likely endear me to others in an online race. smile
(Enjoying the heck out a Caterham on a road course like the Nordshleife (sp?), though...who cares if I come in last)
Regards,
Derek

I do some racing inthe public servers.
I do most of my racing though in a "club", it does support league races but also has club races daily.
