Good stuff. I've been flying with the guys from UO the past few weeks. I love this sim. If anyone needs training take a look at Krause's BMS Tutorials linked below.

THIS.

Mind blowing what a almost 14 year old game can still pull.

Pity, there is no way in hell i would ever be able to fly it in a semi-competent way...
Most of my adventures with F4 were like "wow this is so nice and compl*BOOM-now-i'm-dead*", even in the training missions wink
I can manage black shark to the point of being able to complete a mission or two. Falcon? I'm just making one expensive crater after another.

I tell you what Ultimatebadass - first off, I'd encourage you to give BMS 4.32 a shot just for the awesome training range missions in there. The training range is so much fun and lets you hone your skills in a predictable and easy to identify spot (because we all know that half the battle in any sim is finding and getting the sensors on target). Second - I've found the opening hours of the campaign to be the hardest, but after that things seem to settle in to a more predictable and manageable pace.

One thing I've learned playing F4 campaign missions is that you have to know when to cut your losses. If you see that -29 or whatever on the RWR and you don't have a friendly flight between you and them, you need to abort your A2G mission and open the distance between you and them. Put the RWR symbol on your butt and beat feet to the south. I haven't had enough time to fully explore BMS 4.32, but I swear I read somewhere in the docs there might be a rearm/refuel option at the base now (???).. If so, there is no reason to press on to your target and get shot down for no reason. Now..if you are Air-to-Air configured, I say launch your AMRAAMS at max range (Rmax is it called?) and then work back and forth south to north closing the distance and hopefully paring down the forces.

Retreat should always be an option. Keep at it. The new graphics make it all the more fun...

Good luck!

Great read...and great video...it surely sold me to want to get this version,
But,,the teck-no clod that I am,,,I have some questions.

Will this run on Win 7 on a 4 quad machine and Nvidia 580 graphic card,

When you indicate that all you need is the "your original Falcon.exe which you can install from your original CD."
Are you refering to the orginial Falcon 4 disk, or the Falcon 4 Allied Force disk?

When installing, is there any patches that needs to be up to? Or do you just put in the disk, add the BMS version, and take to the skies.

Looking forward to part deux

I run it on W7 and a 580 just fine.

All you need is to point the BMS install to the original Falcon 4.0 exe (not Allied Force). You do not need to install Falcon 4.0.

The configuration tool will help you select options. There is no patch at this time.

Anyone know of a good A2A refueling primer? I am not sure how different from DCS-A-10 refueling is in BMS (apart from refueling over the shoulder I mean) and I woun't be able to get in the pit until January at the earliest :-(
