Damn, I guess I'm the young un, 45 here. Call sign is strykerpsg. I have already invited Gunny as a friend on my list and will include anyone else willing to patrol the fields of glory with some sense of manuever versus run and gun, although a tactic, not one I like. I generally don't get home until 1800-1900, so will be about 2030ish, if the older crowds still awake then? Also, the occasional weekend I am free at least one day of the weekend to roll around. The other day is spent entertaining my teenage sons or coaxing my K1300S around the beuatiful PNW. Anyway, really dig my Leopard and Luchs, wanting the final German light tank and then want to deck out my Jagd Panzer. It's 105mm gun is a beast of a gun, just need the bigger engine. Now, if only they would implement add on side skirts or welded plates..... Matt

Hi Gunny,
Just back on deck, been away
my call sign in WOT is
digger52
I dont have any lower tier tanks any more but can easily buy a couple if needed. Sold my russian T44 as it rates in the pecking order higher than the T59 which is crazy. Took the money plus earned and now am the proud owner of an E75, a crawling monster with a "railgun"

Not always crazy about the run and gu tactic. Although it does have it's merits, I prefer coordinated or planned manuever. Run and gun works if ambushed enroute. Apologies for not participating this weekend. My son's are trying to get into to the game and was platooning them to show them their roles in their respective vehicles.
How did your clan do this weekend? BTW, when we fight as a clan, we still get experience, correct? I just got my VK2801 and jsut need the final turret upgrade and 105. After that, I'll put on the coated optics and have more than 450 meters LOS and a TD level gun.
Matt

Will look for that one instead of the Maus. BTW, my callsign is strykerpsg in WOT if you ever want to platoon together. Matt

HI strykerpsg,
The pros and cons of the E75.
Stock is just a more heavily armoured Tiger 2 that crawls across the map. With upgraded tracks and turret, starts to come into its own , but is still easily "tracked" and everyone trys to kill you. Am now having great success as sitting back behind the advancing team members and giving them fire support as great for long distance shooting ( ie much like a giant tank destroyer with a rotating turret).
Have not got enough experience points yet for the top tier cannon but that will be a hard decision as whilst slightly higher penetration and damage, very slow reload time vs what im using now. Also yet to get the better engine which I hope will give me more mobility.
Im sick and tired of T59's swarming like flies ( overpowered and too cheap in gold so every man and his dog has bought one) so last night I started buying premium armor piercing rounds and have set my self a mission to exterminate every T59 I see. It worked and gave me great pleasure in watching 2 of them go up in flames who were fighting as a platoon.
I think I have found a new hobby - kill the T59

Everyone hates the T59!
It used to be the Panther and T44 that were everyone's must-kill-first target (back in the beta). They're way down in the list now.

I have a Type 59 and a T54. They are similar in some ways.
I take you up on the challenge, if i see you guys Type 59 haters first, u won't have time to see me!...But you can always attach a white flag on your antennas and I let you go;-)

Yes, they're both premiums with compromises on both their gun and speed. However, the Type 59 is a great equalizier for its speed and gun when in the close turning fight with a heavy or any tank for that matter. Also able to sustain many hits before being destroyed. Admittedly, these are the first I single out with my SPG and now that the GW Panther is imminent, I will own them when playing defensive....kidding of course, but I'll try. Matt

I love the idea of maneuver warfare and seeing it in action is truly a thing of glory. I'd ask to join your clan if I wasn't in one already. Also, I'm more interested in the Clan Wars with the high tier battles.
It's really a shame that the majority of Tanks players are locked into a trench warfare mentality. Thinking back I feel so naive when I first saw Malinovka with it's wide open field as a true test of a team's ability to coordinate and concentrate an attack.
Now I know better. There is NO coordination in public games, unless by rare chance or a clan doing countdowns. Malinovka is now one of my most dreaded maps, because there isn't any maneuver. Just those of us who don't want to wait for a 15 minute draw that climb the hill in the east and pray for some kind of miracle. Often times my platoon will do a banzai charge across the field just to get the misery over with and start another battle. If our team can read English, they MIGHT snipe the targets we spot in our charge.
I'm hearing good things about the future of the game, however. Like the ability to choose which maps you want to play on. When that happens, Malinovka will be a thing of the past. Still seems funny to me how I saw opportunity in the open fields initially, but now I see a bitter stalemate. Gotta love online gaming.
