They better find a way to to cut down on the camping spawning killing in this game or I won't even bother purchasing. This beta is just filled w/ people who camp in the park of your respawn just to level up. I'm already sick of this crap and it's only a beta..

It's too small a map. Conquest works much better, I wish that was in the demo. The ability to spawn with your squad helps, and the mobile spawn points.

Yeah that was happening to me the other night. One whole squad got in behind us and wiped us out. I warned my team through comms but nobody seemed to notice or care.

Yeah just like the BFBC2 beta the BF3 beta is full of spawn camping, spamming and lag... I only ran it long enough to see if the gfx worked ok on my PC, but unlike BFBC2 I didn't play this beta long enough to get frustrated or assume it is representative of the final game.

I figure a beta filled with moron behavior is good so the devs can lock down on that crap for the final, I just hope they have enough time.

Camping doesn't bother as much (as long as it's on defense) but spawn killing is just a talentless tactic IMO. Not sure how a game could control this however. Unfortunately I think it is simply up to the mindless idiots to not spawn kill. Unfortunately these morons do this in every FPS they play and then claim they are great. They really do ruin every game they are in.

With that said, I would say that from my experience so far, the spawn killing hasn't been too bad in the demo. Luck of the draw I guess biggrin When it starts to get out of control I simply leave and start a new game. I haven't had to do this too often however.

As far as camping, I think a game type such as rush actually encourages camping and it is a good tactic IMO. When you are trying to defend a target, you want somebody with eyes on that target, protecting it at all times. Now, I have also seen plenty of camping on offense, which of course, is just ridiculous.

I'm thinking with the other game types BF3 is offering (such as TDM), it might filter out alot of these hacks and make Rush and Conquest a lot more enjoyable for those of us who want to play objective games correctly.

After playing the other map on the PC, I can honestly say the game plays MUCH differently with the larger area presented. Worry not.

I haven't been spawn killed yet. (knock on wood) Although I've done a little bit of it myself. I was hiding in a bush near where the attackers spawn after the first set of MCOMs get blown up. I probably got 4-5 kills out of it before they caught on. But like I said, it hasn't happened to me yet. (unless you count spawning on a squaddie or mobile spawnpoint and getting shot before you can do anything, but that's the risk you take with squad spawns)

The closest is when the defenders totally own the middle of the park. When you get raped no matter which direction you go, by people you never see, you know you aren't winning that round.

I have no problem whatsoever with campers and I always think that people whine about them because they aren't easy kills. (That's not directed at you Top Gun or anyone else here, so no one take it as an insult)

Apart from lag and a few other tech/beta type issues, I thought the beta was pretty good. Maybe they should have just made it Bad Company 3 rather than Battlefield 3 though. Seems like a lot of the game's detractors are Battlefield 2 veterans who never liked the Bad Company games and were hoping for a more "direct" BF2 sequel.

In the limited demo play I did, I kept getting stabbed in the back by some spawn camping asshat as I tried to tweak my controls and graphics options to see if my PC will run it well, hopefully that will not be a common occurrence in the real game as it gets old fast, I agree dynamic squad spawns are fair game but map base camp spawn areas should have some safe area for stuff like that.

It's pretty infuriating that you can't access the menu to change your options, graphics or even exit the game between spawns or games. Why you can only do it while in the game and alive is beyond me.

They are... just read an article where they said BFBC ain't over yet...

I don't mind camping if it's within your role, assignment, or on defense... but i can't stand spawn killing, thier should be a safe zone... but what I have even more of a problem with is reporting to the team that thiers someone spawn camping, and they don't help... at least throw a bunch of smoke so the new spawners can get to cover or kill the #%&*$#. wink
