I stumbled across this neat website yesterday that has loads of stuff to do with all the old Origin games.

http://originadventures.wordpress.com/

You can find magazine scans of PC magazine previews and reviews at the time, plus gameplay diaries by the site author, hundreds of screenshots and even PDF versions of the Jane's Longbow official strategy guides for download!

You can be quiet, Spectre, you all but abandon us then turn up out-of-the-blue and make a remark like that! biggrin

duh So sorry, Flyboy, I sometimes can't resist! Well over a year ago I suffered a hard drive failure. The aging ATI 9800 Pro card in my aging PC then began to fail. I acquired a hand-me-down PC from my daughter after last Christmas when we built her a new quad-core desktop. Thing is, none of my gameport HOTAS stuff worked with it because the PC only had USB ports. I only recently acquired USB HOTAS gear and began the long walk back to sim country. I've been getting reacquainted with IL-2 recently and haven't ventured into reloading Longbow. It's on my to-do list, but shaking off the cob webs is taking longer than I expected. I'll be visiting your site for guidance when I get my whirlybird geek on, for sure. 'til then, happy hunting! thumbsup

And of course, Spectre, if you get lost on my website or need help with any unique circumstances that arise - I'll be glad to help on a one-to-one basis too.

Thanks, Flyboy, I hope to get around to it before long. So happy you've built the repository of things Longbow. It would have been a shame for it all to pass into oblivion.

As you may remember, when I first started my site it was mainly just made up of content that I had been fortunate enough to save before other people's sites went offline. So to start with, it was literally just the best bits off other sites. Then, I started adding my own research, notes, info and stuff sent by other players.

I will admit that it's not always been easy to keep it updated and running, and I have had a few server moves and internal re-linking to contend with. But yeah, I'm glad that people are still finding the site useful after all this time. The only factor to consider now is that I've got to try and make sure that MY site doesn't ever go down and pass into oblivion - because then, it would be not just all my work but all the archived work of other's too that gets lost.
