Good weather, bad lighting, good show. Lots going on, a very nice collection of performances and it flowed pretty well.

Good stuff Ken. Is it me or does Miramar always have awkward lighting? (runway orientation/crowd line?)

I don't know why, but #15 makes me chuckle. "I was towing a line but I think we snagged a bunch of things...". Something about the way they are hanging there I guess. Nice to see more V-22 action as well.

Thanks guys, and yes Gopher, Miramar always has bad lighting. Many Southern California runways are aligned east/west if they're anywhere near the coast because of the prevailing winds from the ocean, and they always seem to put the parking areas to the north of the runways, so people are looking south all day and that means at least slightly into the sun. The best shows for lighting in my area are usually the smaller ones - Riverside, Jacqueline Cochran, and El Centro (that one is a little bigger than the others, but still smaller than Miramar, Nellis, etc.).

The boys and I had a great time at this show, missed the marine drop by minutes.

Though when my Son spilled gatorade on us by not paying attention, the look on his face of shock was great when I said "Well Simon, you need discpline, and this where you're going to get it, I'm giving you to the Marines."

Are there legalities around posting whatever Blue Angels pics you took?

nice shots, my favourite airshow was the 1981 Miramar one with the Blue Angels flying A4s, what a hoot that was!

now that they are forecasting wet snow for tonight, I miss SD !

That is one shiny P-51. I'll bet the passenger had an awesome time with his ride in it.

Great photos Ken, sucks about the bad lighting though. I was at Oceana and it was cloudy and raining all 3 days and the Blues never flew a full demo....
great job on the full disk prop on that Herc! I want to get down to a Marine show and see one of their full demo's with the Osprey's, Cobra's, Stallions and Huey's. My Nephew who was a marine went to Cherry Point and said the demo was awesome...
